Clay Health Board Meets
Jan 9 2023
We have
some quiet govt run agencies in Clayberry. One of those is the
Clay Health Dept which is under the auspices of their five
member Board of Directors. For the most part they drum along
day in day out without much attention. At times, they and
their expertise are overlooked during important times. Like,
back during COVID pandemic, months into the disaster, the
Health Dept was NOT being consulted by the School Board on
COVID issues and problems.... left out of the loop so to
speak.
The Health Bd held their quarterly meeting on Jan 9th
in the NH Dyer building on Main Street. Boardsters Joyce
McLaughlin, Ted Underwood, and Judith Combs were present for
duty. During their 25 minute gathering, they went thru
the various ho hum agency updates.... We're doing this...
We're writing another grant... not much going on around the
holiday season .... flu cases are down but COVID cases are
up....
The biggy for this meeting and one sure way to
raise the hackles of every other county worker in Clayberry,
employee raises were passed. Unanimously.
As explained by Director Angela Brown, instead of
providing % raises to all employees, this year, it will be a
$1800 for the year chunk of money that comes to local wallets
on July 1st.
Hold it readers, doesn't that sound like an
unlawful to give, "Bonus"? Sure does but according to Ms Brown
and according to the Gold Dome officials, this fresh influx is
to be called a "pay differential"
All together now: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
But wait there's more!
Everyone that worked during the COVID pandemic, there's
another non base building pay differential for COVID 19
workers amounting to $2070! Nice!
2023 is starting off pretty nicely for the Clay
Health Dept.
Alright Courthouse workers, don't B#####. It's
time to start raising double H. Get out the picket signs and
start marching.
