Glen Wesley Adkins
Felony 37
for this year was awarded to Mr Adkins ( DOB 11-21-62, Queen
Shoals) around Aug 18th. Green Shirt J A Miller was the
obliging Badge. Probable cause was found by Magistrate Jeff
Boggs.
From the criminal complaint and excerpted a bunch
by us: Adkins tried to pass a fake $100 at the Family
Dollar store on Main St. With all the protections built
into paper money, it was pretty easy for the Manager to spot
the bogus currency. Adkins took the 100 bill and left the
store. Of course, the almost transaction was recorded on video
tapes.
While the wording gets a wittle corn-fusing, sounds
like Adkins when to Bullard's ParMar store and passed the bill
to that store.
The next day Adkins called the Green Shirts fretting
about maybe getting into trouble for passing fake bills. On
the phone Glen Adkins told law enforcement, he had gone back
to ParMar and gave them a true 100 dollar bill to replace the
bogus one.
Yelp the exchanges at ParMar was on tape too.
Adkins is charged with 2 counts of passing
counterfeit currency that he knew was fake.
Dollars are too tough to print up these days. For
all the criminals that read this newspaper, you might have a
better chance at reproducing social security cards or deep
discount coupons. Just a thought readers.

Matthew Duane Evans
Felony 38
goes to Matthew Duane Evans ( DOB 2-4-73, Lizemores) around
July 21st in County Clay. Green Shirt C A Lane did the honors
with Magistrate Jeff Rider OKing the probable cause issue.
Some people still remember the old movie Thunder Road
with Robert Mitchum where the star always managed to speed
away. Those days are long gone.
Reading in part: Around 10 pm on July 22nd, Green
Shirt Lane and Wiseman were out tooling around in the
Lizemores section of Clayberry on routine "trying to catch a
bad guy" patrol when a tan Chevy came their way with loud
exhaust and no sticker.
Folks, before we continue, if you're a criminal or up
to no good, how stupid to have ANYTHING catching attention!!!
Now: Yelp, on came the blue lights and chase began. At
high speeds the Chevy high tailed it up Ripatoe swerving all
over the place.... While on Ripatoe, the driver made a sharp
turn on an ATV path. About 1.3 miles up the side road, there
was the Chevy smashed into a tree with one male skedaddling
from the passenger side. Catching him on foot after a 50 yard
chase, Samuel Todd Murphy was stuffed into the cruiser.
The driver, Matthew Duane Evans was also arrested. And
you guessed it, Evans had none of the mandatory paperwork
necessary to have a vehicle on the road nor a driver's
license.
Evans was charged on fleeing with reckless
difference, driving suspended, no MVI,
defective equipment, and no insurance. Murphy was charged with
fleeing on foot.
Both were taken to Central Regional Jail on our
dime.
