OCT 07 PAST NEWS

Oct. 31 am Halloween is the best night of the year to listen to police scanner traffic. You never know what the dark hours can bring to
the county.
Oct. 31 am Most folks use Internet Explorer as your web browser. FireFox is an open source browser also available. The newest version
of FireFox just came out. For those that are having problems with the Windows based IE,  you might want to try out FireFox 2.0 a free
download.
Oct. 31 am This was the first year for PeeWee football in the county. After raising tons of money for protective gear and uniforms, Clay
County fielded three teams. The B and C teams went all year without a loss. Saturday the C team (6 year olds and up) competed in 2nd
round playoff action and beat the Summersville Little Bears 28 to 8. Didn't go so well for the B team which came up short against the
Braxton Redskins.
Oct. 31 am C Team takes on Oak Hill in the PeeWee Super Bowl Championship  this coming weekend at Schoonover/Bradley Field.
Oct. 31 am Ambulances and Badges high tailed it over to Ovapa Cut Off Road last night around 9pm. One person was helicoptered out.
  Oct. 31 am  Details coming.
Oct. 30 pm  Under nothing but blue skies and bright sunshine, the last week in October is starting out beautiful.
Oct. 30 pm We've been waiting for weeks and weeks. Months really!
Oct. 30 pm  Today at 11 am, Taco Mels at Two Run opened for business. They even have breakfast foods and a 99 cent menu.
Oct. 30 pm  This has been a pretty good year for growth in the county of little. Added so far, the new public campground, the reopening
of The Kitchen, a Mike's Main Street Barbershop, and now a taco place. Not too shabby.
Oct. 30 pm Shoring up his base in Clayberry, 2nd District Congressional candidate Mike Callaghan will be at WYAP for questions and
answers this Wed beginning at 11 am. Tune in on 101.7 FM or listen online to hear what the guy has to say.
Oct. 30 pm Have you voted? Lots of others have during the early voting days at the Courthouse. Don't take a chance on snow or being
sick. Vote early and vote often. An American tradition!
Oct. 30 pm Need some $ ? This Thursday the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation is hosting a grant writing workshop over at Clay
High. The group hands out tons of freeebee dollars annually to non profits and government agencies. The workshop is to show you how
submit your grant application online and provide info on what type of projects they fund. Pre register for the workshop now, 346-3620.

Oct. 29 am What time is it? Did you know next year, daylight savings time will be extended from March into Nov.?
Oct. 29 am  With so few candidates seeking his election year support, the man at the top should have plenty time deciding which face to
wear. This week, he had a tougher time keeping everyone on the same page.
Oct. 29 am With the religious right knowing they've been duped, a majority of Americans are saying, leave those proactive judges alone.
Oct. 29 am  Oct. is not over yet, but it has already proven to be the most costly month in the Oil War.   With losses OVER 3000 on our
side, There have been 3,046 coalition deaths, 2,810 Americans, two Australians, 120 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, six Danes, two Dutch, two
Estonians, one Fijian, one Hungarian, 32 Italians, one Kazakh, one Latvian, 17 Poles, two Romanians, two Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11
Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of October 27, 2006, according to a CNN count.
Oct. 29 am Wouldn't it be nice to hear W say, I made a mistake. Because of that mistake good men and women soldiers died. I am
assembling a top notch committee  to meet and see what we can do to correct my mistake. They have one month to come up with a new
and better plan. I am sorry for my shortcomings. Thank you.
Oct. 29 am This is Delta Communications and we approve of this message
Oct. 29 am Closer to home ..... we saw what not using communication tools to their best advantage can do. Planned water repairs had to
be made in Clay between 3 and 6pm on Thursday. Few people were told that water service would be cut off. Those few informed were
not told the affected area would be much larger. Businesses suffered. A school dance got really messy when 300 kids used the bathrooms
without benefit of flushing. County Samitarian Jar Carper said he was unaware of the outage, no one told him!
Oct. 29 am In 2006 with telephones, FAX, internet, a local radio station and web notices a plenty, Thursday's dismal job of letting the
people know can not be tolerated.
Oct. 29 am  Friday's Demo Rally had a pretty good showing.  There was a feeling that change was coming this time around. Smiles came
easy. The food went quick, real quick. One senior citizen said to Senator Randy White, you messed up. Everyone can mess up once.
Those  pictures was yours. I'm voting for you next week but don't let this happen again! Senator White replied, Thank You.
Oct. 29 am  The old guy was saying what we were all thinking.
Oct. 29 am In Clayberry, people are early voting. On Saturday, 34 went to the Courthouse to cast their ballot. Of those, 8 used the new
electronic machine.
Oct. 29 am The County Commission did something right a few years ago. Our county is one of a handful in the state which allows
Sunday hunting. That decision (Jimmy Sams was the strong supporter of Sunday hunting back then) has given us an advantage in the
tourism business. With so many people working longer and more varied shifts, to get an extra day of hunting in, we may stand to benefit a
bunch.
Oct. 29 am Oh sure the Church crowd may still object and say Sunday is the day of rest and we should stop the personal right to use our
own property as we see fit.  BUT those are the same folks at the dog track, drinking beer, shopping and such on Sundays. The truth is,
the first day of the week, Sunday,  and Sunday hunting ,can be a strong tool for our growth. The CCC got something right five years ago.
Oct. 29 am This weekend we saw strong winds and heavy rain wash much of our Fall colors away. We are getting ready for the dark
months of winter where we stay inside and hang close to the heater and TV. The BRrrrrr is right around the corner and we know it.
Oct. 28 am The Communicator made it out the door Friday afternoon around 4pm. 24 pages of news found nowhere else. Our lead story
deals with internet crime here in Clayberry. The 21st Century is here.
Oct. 28 am  Yesterday the Demorats held a lunch time gathering complete with munchies. The turn out was good but the attitudes were
better. There was a feeling of victory in the air.
Oct. 28 am Water was off for many downtown Clay and Two Run customers late Thursday afternoon. Other customers of the system
saw their water pressure dropped to nearly nothing.
Oct. 28 am Thursday afternoon that planned outage left many mad as wet hens. While a few people knew about the water work in
advance, many didn't. Around 6pm a hair dresser lady came storming into Fas Chek in search of bottled water. She said one of her clients
was going to be real mad if her hair fell out for lack of a rinse.
Oct. 28 am At the very least, the Town did a pitiful job of informing the public.
Oct. 28 am   A couple weeks ago Clayberry viewed Tommy Young Jr's appeal on the WV Supreme Court webcast. A few days later we
reported the request had been denied. A couple lawyers in the county said there had been no such ruling.
Oct. 28 am Friday morning, the Supreme Court made it official and put it in writing. Young Jr had received a fair trial in Clay and his
appeal had been denied. Maybe we jumped the gun two weeks ago but it's official now.
Oct. 27 pm  Lucinda Jane B. Harris, 92, see OBITUARY page
Oct. 27 4:30am  The Communicator is all typed up and ready for printing. If all goes well, it will be on the news stands around 4pm
today.
Oct. 27 am  Hungry? Want some free food? Demorats are hosting a get together today beginning at noon. Everybody is welcome. Might
aughta take em up on the vittles, might be the only thang a politician gives ya!

Oct. 27 am  Saturday evening at 7:30pm WDTV Channel 5 coming out of Pittsburgh is airing an encore show on illegal workers in West
Virginia. Danny Eagle saw the first airing and says the lead off segment is on Clay County. Might be something worth watching.
Oct. 27 am On another subject but found on that Channel 5 site:  The controversy just won't die over the legal battle from the Jesus
painting. The Harrison County Board of Education is facing $46,00 dollars' worth of legal bills, leaving folks wondering "Who's going
to pay them?" Board member Mike Queen says he had "no idea" how the $38,000 they've been billed for is going to be paid. But he
does say the board is wrong if they think they can dip into the $170,000 the Christian Defense Fund raised to defend the board. Queen
says all the donors he's talked to didn't donate money for this purpose, and they feel like they should be given the money back since the
board settled and didn't move forward with the lawsuit. So, the possibility does exist that taxpayers could have to fit the bill for the
remaining fees that are owed. Board President Wilson Currey says the issue will be taken up at the next board meeting.
Oct. 27 am Before you start yelling those dirty pinko ACLU turkeys, those legal bills are from the Board's defense team NOT the
ACLU.
Oct. 27 am Wonder if this county can learn from this. Jimmy is leaving office in Dec. Wonder if he's taking his personal property when
he goes.

NY but right here in Clayberry. The 21st Century is here and it's not pretty!
Oct. 25 am Dubbya's il War has been a disaster since his first lie. With the latest strategy in shambles, the new plan calls for more troops.
Oct. 24 am  Keith Olbermann has been giving W double H on MSNBC. For those that have missed his heavy duty commentary, here's
an audio on the USA standing silent as another Constitutional guarantee was tossed aside Oct. 18th. Thank you Mr President.
Oct. 25 am Don't wait until Nov. 7th. Vote today during early voting at the Courthouse. Don't take a chance on bad weather in Nov.,
exercise your right to vote.
Oct. 25 am  It's time for our second online election year poll. Who's it going to be in the 11th Senatorial race, incumbent Demorat Randy
White or Republicrat challenger Pete Sigler. Question 2: A close race or the winner by a mile?
Oct. 25am  Email your responses ASAP. Will announce outcome on this site.
Oct. 25 am My lands, who would have ever thunk it? Stoplights in Clayberry!
Oct. 25 am We've got one albeit temporary ( I hope). Construction crews at the Dundon Bridge Ski Slope erected stoplights. How bad is
it? The Sheriff was out there yesterday directing traffic just to get the school buses thru the mess.
Oct. 25 am The radio station over in Clay is looking for 120 feet or so of underpinning to winterize their office trailer. If you have any
laying around,. let WYAP know. They're planning a work party next Monday. 587-8353

Oct. 25 am  Two friends, a blonde and a redhead, are walking down the street and pass a flower shop where the redhead sees her
boyfriend buying her flowers.  The Redhead sighs and says: "Oh crap, my boyfriend is buying me flowers again."  The blonde looks
quizzically at her and says: "You don't like getting flowers from your boyfriend?"  The redhead replies: "I love getting flowers, but he
always has expectations after giving me flowers, and I just don't feel like spending the next three days on my back with my legs in the
air."   The blonde says: ........"Don't you have a vase?"
Oct. 24 pm  Clay County has a way of making it in the news cycle.
Oct. 24 pm  Today's lead story in the Charleston Gazette reports the grizzly murder of  Lisa Lynn Pierson and her 20 young old
daughter. The suspected killer is Stanley Eugene Pierson.  Mr. Pierson is a 1989 graduate of Clay County High School.
Oct. 24 pm The complete Charleston Gazette write up is now posted on our ADVISORY page.
Oct. 24 am First something from the email bag on yesterday's snow showers: Just picked up on the evening posting  about the early snow
fall... Does anyone remember the "Big Snow' storm of 20 Oct. 1961.. I certainly do. My Bride and i were married on the 21st, had lots of

Oct. 24 am Yesterday's County Commission meeting lasted just 30 minutes and went without  "juice". Soon to be out of office Jimmy
Sams was once again absent from duty.
Oct. 24 am This week Clayberry says goodbye to the longest running business in the county. Barber Otto Brown is closing his Main
Street Clay doors after 50 1/2 years of serving the public. Four weeks ago a new young barber opened a new shop in the old service
station building on Main Street.
Oct. 24 am Mr Brown's barber shop will be handed over to a new fellow from Summersville.
Oct. 24 am  Talk about growth. That's two barber shops in the county's only municipality!
Oct. 24 am   The Center for Disease Control has issued a  warning about a new  virulent strain of a Sexually Transmitted Disease. The
disease is contracted through dangerous and high-risk behavior. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim and pronounced "gonna re-elect
him."   Many victims contracted it in 2004, after having been screwed for the previous four years. Naturalists and epidemiologists are
amazed at how this destructive disease originated only a few  years ago from a bush found in Texas.

Oct. 23 pm  With the temps in the upper 30s, it was fun to watch people all bundled up and with gloves. By Jan, we'll think the upper
30s as a heat wave.

Oct. 23 pm  One day, two rednecks named Bubba and Earl were driving down the road, drinking a couple of Buds. The passenger,
Bubba, said "Lookey thar up ahead Earl, it's a po-leece roadblock! We're gonna get busted fer drinkin' these here beers!" "Don't worry
Bubba," Earl said. "We'll just pull over and finish drinkin' these beers, peel off the label and stick it on our foreheads, then throw the
bottles under the seat." "What fer?" asked Bubba. "Just let me do the talkin', okay?" said Earl. They finished their beers, threw the empty
bottles under the seat and slapped the labels on their foreheads. When they reached the roadblock, the sheriff  said, "Have you boys been
drinking?" "No sir," said Earl, "we're on the  patch."

Look at number 225.
Oct. 23 am As for Wagner Gas Co. Here's the latest we can find on the local company not supplying enough gas for Ivydale customers.
You have to have a pdf reader for that one.  In a nutshell:  Commission Procedural Order that a general investigation of Wagner Gas
Company is hereby initiated and Wagner is made a party to this proceeding. That Wagner shall enter into a month-to-month gas
purchase contract with Prime Operating Company which obligates Wagner to purchase sufficient volumes of gas that are available
from Prime Operating to meet the demand of its customers. That Wagner provide the Commission with a copy of the contract that it has
entered into with Prime Operating as soon as the contract is signed; etc.

Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of October 21, 2006, according to a CNN count.
Oct. 22 pm  Each election year this web site does online polls. Nothing scientific just requests for who you think will win. Our first poll
was the race between  Congresswoman Capito (R) and  challenger Callaghan (D). With our county being 4 to 1 registered Demorat to
Republicrat, Callaghan won the  contest hand down. Even with Capito on the Congressional Page  Oversight Committee and the Foley
scandal in full blossom, there were very few responses. Most believe a light voter turnout will be beneficial for Capito.
Oct. 22 pm Those with residential gas service in the northern end of the county raised enough cane to get the WV Public Service
Commission's attention. The only way they'll know if the local supplier has turned over a new leaf, the next cold spell. They won't have to
wait long. Snow is in the forecast for the coming week.
Oct. 22 pm We lost Paul Brown this week. Brown was seen Monday at the Courthouse joking and talking as was his norm. Two days
later he was gone. Paul Brown will be missed.
Oct. 22 pm Clayberry is getting a certain reputation. We have serious drug and thievery problems.
Oct. 22 pm  Badges are arresting daily. Our courts are locking them up.  With jail bills going up, there is no end in sight. With everyone
taken off the streets, it seems three replace em.  Many of our leaders think the best way to handle the problem is to lock up more folks.
Oct. 22 pm  Friday mid day, Badges were back up on Murder Mountain. They recovered a big excavator. Later on Friday, a helicopter
was seen hovering in the area. The guess is: More stuff will be recovered.
Oct. 22 pm Fall Colors are here. Everywhere you look, there are reds, yellows, and golds. Beautiful!
Oct. 22 pm Clayberry is in shut down mode. It's hunting season. The drop in temps coupled with the change in foliage triggered a male
gland. NO NOT THAT ONE!!!
Oct. 22 pm   Signs of this disease include: buying gumbo mudder tires, the need for new camo, buying hundreds of round of ammo, and
leaving early in the morning & coming back home five hours later with a big smile. Bow season is here
Oct. 22 pm So are the lady bugs. Trying to enter the old Courthouse can be a challenge. The entry way is covered with the pesky little

Oct. 18 pm In addition to gas heating supplier issues in the county, water problems popped up yesterday.
Oct. 18 pm The Clay Roane PSD water booster pump station (Camp Creek) went on the fritz. Customers affected include all the
wholesale customers (Queen Shoals) and the upper section of Camp Creek. Related to the strong storms that went thru the County
Monday night and early Tuesday morning, the booster pump electrical system blew. Customers began reporting no water conditions at 11
am Tuesday morning. H.E.  White Elem was closed down for the balance of the day. Service was restored by mid afternoon Tuesday.
Oct. 18 pm An emergency meeting of the PSD has been called for Friday morning at 7:30am at the Procious Water Plant. The plan is to
vote to replace parts of the electrical supply and purchase a back up pump. Cost: Somewhere around $7000.
Oct. 18 pm  During Clay Roane's last rate increase, and the one before that, the OK was given to replace the 20 year equipment.

26.APB APPENDIX B - PSC-REGULATED LIEAP VENDORS The following gas and electric vendors are regulated by the Public

Oct. 17 am Want to run for office? Today is the last day to file as a write in candidate.
Oct. 17 am Today is also the last day to register to vote for this election season. Do it today or quit complaining.
Oct. 17 am A lot of folks in Ivydale lost their home natural gas last week when the temps dropped to freezing. Their supplier is John
Habjan and his several gas companies.  TV coverage reports indicate Habjan was unable to pay his suppliers of raw product and they shut
him off . No bulk gas, no gas to sell to customers.  A WV Public Service Commission hearing on the matter was called for yesterday
morning. We understand that didn't happen.
Oct. 17 am  Over the last year or so, Valley and Wagner Gas received rate "pass thru" increases to cover the increased cost of gas
purchased. The last increase came July 26 2006.
Oct. 17 am   Prime Energy is one of the suppliers to the Habjan empire. In WV PSC web documents, Prime has increased wholesale
prices 500%.
Oct. 17 am In those same WV PSC documents can be found words that Habjan owns rights to the same gas fields Prime draws from.
Oct. 17 am If that's not a big Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... then
Oct. 17 am How can the WV PSC give rate increases to a company that isn't even legal to operate in this state? According to WV Sec of
State documents, Valley Gas had its charter revoked 9/11/1996. San Dee Corporation had its charter revoked  7/15/1999 which is the
same date Saglio Corp had their charter yanked. Habjan is listed as the President or officer of each.
Oct. 17 am If you spell SAGLIO backwards, it spells Oil Gas. Saglio is the production side of the Habjan empire.
Oct. 17 am Yesterday was an interesting day in Circuit Court land.
Oct. 17 am For the most part, the young men were out on bond, required to take drug tests, and failed them!  They were each told:  if
you do any drugs while on bond, you will get caught and to the slammer you shall go. Apparently some didn't  listen.
Oct. 17 am  For instance Jason Triplett, caught up with Meth, plead to a lesser charge and yelp, flunked pee tests on more than one
occasion. Judge Alsop sent him to the pen for 1 to 5 on one charge and on fleeing and conspiracy to flee, one year each. Those second
sentences were suspended in lieu of supervised release.
Oct. 17 am Another.....     Nathan Stephenson plead to a reduced charge and while on bond, doctored up  pee tests this summer and
yesterday morning, well, he flunked another drug test. For his illegal activities and maybe due in part to not staying clean, no home
confinement, two one year sentences!
Oct. 17 am Did we mention he flunked the pee test that morning?
Oct. 17 am Alvin Hardway ( prior conviction of brandishing) received 1 to 10 years in the pen for grand larceny. He's already been at the
Anthony Correctional Center  for nearly a year and those months will be applied to the sentence.
Oct. 17 am Jonathan Sizemore has been locked up for 90 days of his one year sentence after swiping $ from Go Mart in Clay. He asked
the Court for probation. Didn't get it. The Judge will take a second look Nov. 26th.
Oct. 17 am The Travis Welch hearing to revoke bond was not held. Rescheduled  for Nov. 20th ( I think).
Oct. 17 am  And the dumb bunny of the week award goes to Joe Adkins who was released from Central Regional Jail at 9 am Monday
morning. He was in jail for flunking a drug test while on probation. When released Monday morning, he was told, go the Sheriff's office
and get the ankle bracelet hooked up and we'll try you on home confinement again. It takes around 45 minutes to get from CRJ to Clay.
Oct. 17 am  10am....  11 am..... Noon and no Joe Adkins.
Oct. 17 am  At noon:45 Sheriff Holcomb found Adkins, pee tested him and Yelp, tested positive for pot! By 3pm, he was heading back
to jail.
Oct. 17 am Dumb Dumb Dumb and paying for it!
Oct. 16 pm  After a long night of making love, he notices a photo of another man on her night stand by the bed. He begins to worry. "Is
this your husband?" he nervously asks.  "No, silly," she replies, snuggling up to him.  "Your boyfriend, then?" he continues. "No, not at
all," she says, nibbling away at his ear.  "Is it your dad or your brother?" he inquires, hoping to be reassured. "No, no, no!!!" she answers.
Well, who the heck is he, then?" he demands.  "That's me before the surgery."

Oct. 16 am  Today in Motion day in Circuit Court land. Sound boring did you say? Nope. They do all kinds of stuff during Motion Days
including sentencing. Be prepared to be tossed out every so often when they come to Juvenile stuff but still a good way to see and hear
justice first hand. Soft seats too.

Oct. 16 am In our weekend wrapup we mentioned that the WV Supreme Court had turned down Tommy Young Jr's appeal for a new
trial. Got an email last night that said that wasn't correct. Will check on Monday and let all know.
Oct. 15 pm All of a sudden, summer is gone. This past week even teens had to put on some clothes. With two freezes under our belt,
those pretty yellow mums are having a hard time keeping their colors. The last of the green tomatoes were brought in and set in the
window. The last of our pretty, those Fall  reds and yellows aren't here yet but are just around the corner.
Oct. 15 pm  A more realistic report came out this week showing civilian casualties in  Iraq around 650,000 and climbing. W says no way.
Oct. 15 pm  With the new Iraq government a total failure, attacks on our troops are now coming at one an hour. With our Prez still
seeing Victory, quietly, James Baker was brought in to come up with an exit strategy. It's a no brainer, he  has just two choices. Send
more troops or divide the country into three separate mini countries.
Oct. 15 pm    There have been 2,987 coalition deaths, 2,754 Americans, two Australians, 118 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, six Danes, two
Dutch, two Estonians, one Fijian, one Hungarian, 32 Italians, one Kazakh, one Latvian, 17 Poles, two Romanians, two Salvadoran, three
Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of October 13, 2006, according to a CNN count.
Oct. 15 pm Just a couple weeks before the election, the MArk Foley scandal won't go away. Each day, more filth comes forward. The
party that had a lock on decency, truth and the American way, now has egg on their faces. This week up for reelection Shelley Moore
Capito said Republicrat leadership kept her in the dark. Distancing one self is the tactic now. Don't even mention you're a Republicrat.
Oct. 15 pm The election is for the Demorats to lose.
Oct. 15 pm So bad is it today, Dubbya can't even mention his topic of choice, the Oil War. He's upbeat!
Oct. 15 pm Driving around and seeing those yard signs makes many say: How can you support that idiot????
Oct. 15 pm  How is our Circuit Court doing?  Based on the two recent WV Supreme Court decisions, very well. Some call it our short
Circuit Court, the big robes said, justice is being served. Larry Thomas will remain behind bars and no matter what you think, Tommy
Young Jr received a fair trial.
Oct. 15 pm The WV Public Service Commission was set up to support local Public Service Districts. It says so in their mission
statement.
Oct. 15 pm For years they have told local Board members, increase your operation expenses and then ask for  a  rate increase. That just
happened again in Clayberry.
Oct. 15 pm Clay County PSD hired a $600 per month part time employee, added an office worker, gave raises and expressed a need for
new equipment, new truck and backhoe. Bam! They received a 15% rate increase making them the 6th highest public water provider in
the state.
Oct. 15 pm  With increase in hand, they laid off Bill Dunn and reduced Felicia Coger to two days a week. With lots more $ in hand, they
can now spend and do as they like.
Oct. 15 pm  For 11 years and counting, Friday afternoon, the one source for all the news on Clay County, West Virginia made it to the
news stands.
Oct. 15 am While we're working on the weekend wrap up, check out the new pics over on the PHOTO page from June and July 2006.
Should have August viewable this weekend late
Oct. 14 pm For our worldwide clickers, our Fall colors are within just a few days of being at peak color. Why not visit Clayberry?
Oct. 14 pm The JG Bradley offers close to downtown Clay camping. Load up those rug rats and come home to Clay for a few days.
Oct. 14 pm I don't know how to do that? IT's time to learn.....
Oct. 14 pm You've got  a whole boat load of digital images and completely unorganized. In the basic Windows software they've got an
easy tool for renaming pictures.
Oct. 14 pm Instead of mousing two or three steps, Windows has some pretty slick shortcuts right on the keyboard.
Oct. 14 pm How do you like being duped by big government. The big talk is a new book revealing how Rove and W used the good right
wing evangelicals to win an election. Here's the first You Tube video and the second in the series. Works best with  a high speed
connection. When you get to that page, use the little arrow in  the bottom of the video screen to start the coverage.
Oct. 13 pm  Gary A. Tanner, 52, of Duck, see OBITUARY page
Oct. 13 pm The Communicator is out the door. $100 worth of news and info for just 70cents.
Oct. 13 pm Last night we saw our first frost of the season. Temps dropped into the 30s. Other things dropped too.
Oct. 13 pm As is the case each year, natural gas heating pressure dropped. Translation: Lots of elderly people went without heat.
Oct. 13 pm One lady said attempts to reach Wagner Gas were unsuccessful.
Oct. 13 pm Today, two Tv film crews were in the county interiewing Clayonians.
Oct. 13 am Hey. Didn't we tell you yesterday there wouldn't be any new posts until we get the paper out this afternoon!
Oct. 13 am Go to work!
Oct. 13 am By the way, we're up to 24 pages! Should be out by 4 pm today
Oct. 12 pm We're going into shut down mode while we work on the Communicator. No new posts unless it is something dumb.
Oct. 12 pm Tonight Clay Roane PSD will hold their regular monthly meeting if the Board at the CCC room in the Courthouse beginning
at 7pm. Yesterday, the CCC did not vote in a replacement for resigned from office, Rose Cantrell.
Oct. 12 pm How would you like to get some of your electric bill back? Make your local power supplier pay you?
Oct. 12 pm Not a pipe dream, it's here compliments some hard work by environmental groups. See ADVISORY page now.
Oct. 12 pm  The last chance for dirt track racing fun is this Saturday at O'Brion Oval near Duck. Have some fun this Saturday before
winter sets in!.
Oct. 11 am  Under the headline 46 Individuals indicted by Grand Jury,  the Braxton CItizen News is reporting: A total of forty-six
individuals were indicted by the Braxton County Grand Jury when they met last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for their October
Term............. Jokwin Schoonover of Spencer is alleged to have taken an ATV from a resident in southern Braxton County and placing it
in another individual’s building. He is charged with grand larceny and aiding in the concealment of stolen goods.............. Calvin Cottrell of
Clay and Michael Adkins of Walton were both indicted for 4th degree arson and conspiracy. The charges stem from their alleged starting
of a fire in the day room at the Central Regional Jail. Cottrell is currently housed in the Huttonsville Correctional Center ........... Laura
Townsend of Procious was charged with illegally obtaining a controlled substance, entry of a building other than a dwelling and obstructing
an office. Deputy Phil Huff was the arresting officer. Townsend attempted to fraudulently obtain a prescription at a local pharmacy
Oct. 11 am Here in Clay, last term, we indicted 3. Our next Grand Jury convenes the first week in Nov
Oct. 11 am   Last night the Clay County PSD met in regular session. With their Lizemore/Tucker's Bottom project mostly completed,
they laid off Project Co Ordinator Bill Dunn ( $600 per month ). Under questioning, they made public another change. Chair Greg
Fitzwater said under his direction Felicia Cogar was reduced from a full time office worker to just 2 days per week.
Oct. 11 am  Many in the county feel both workers were hired to add expense and better qualify for a major water rate increase.
Oct. 11 am   The wages did figure  into the need  for a water rate increase last month. No mention during yesterday's meeting of cutting
the 15% increase after reducing operation costs.
Oct. 11 am  One other  note from yesterday's Clay PSD meeting. For those 70% of the county wanting water service, it\s going to be a
while longer. According to PSD Chair Fitzwater, the CCC told him to hold off any other water extension projects until a county wide
consolidation plan can be completed. Consolidation of the PSDs was a  reaaaaaaal thorny topic a few years back when the WV Public
Service Commission came to the county demanding such a move right then. They said we couldn't live without it! They came up with a
best plan, a bester plan, and a bestest yet plan. Each plan included taking over the town water plant and raising water rates for everybody.
Oct. 11 am It was an unworkable idea back then and little has changed in 6 years!
Oct. 11 am Normally we include a D's oil war mention in our weekend wrap ups.  During the week we often give the incompetent one
raspberries for stupid remarks and mis statements.
Oct. 11 am A new British report is slated to be released this Wednesday showing a daily death rate of civilian's in Iraq at over 500 per
day and in the three years of our occupation over 655,000 in civillian deaths. That's twenty times more that our White House has been
telling us..
Oct. 11 am Even before the report is released, W says it ain't true. How sad. My how we need a change in Washington.
Oct. 10 pm After every trial, there's always somebody yelling they didn't get justice, they were short changed, or there was some breach
of law.
Oct. 10 pm Larry Thomas was found guilty of murdering Nancy Nelson by a jury of his peers. Last Wednesday was his appeal to the
WV Supreme Court.
Oct. 10 pm The big robes have made their decision. Justice was served and nothing worthy enough to demand a new trial. Thomas will
spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Oct. 10 pm We give big accolades to the BC&G folks for their efforts to build an excursion railroad. Another group is trying to build an
8000 square foot, $100,000 skate board park in the county. They've been organizing, meeting  and fundraising for 6 months.
Oct. 10 pm The Skate Park Committee meets this evening at 6:30pm at Clay County Park.
Oct. 10 pm  Jon and Jennie are getting ready for bed.  Jennie is standing in front of her full-length mirror, taking a long, hard look at
herself.  "You know, Jon," she comments, "I stare into this mirror and I see an ancient creature.  My face is all wrinkled, my boobs sag so
much that they dangle to my waist, my arms and legs are as flabby as popped balloons, and...my butt looks like a sad, deflated version of
the Hindenberg!"  My body has just gone to H in a hand basket!  She turns to face Jon and says, "Jon, please tell me just one positive
thing about my body so I can feel better about myself."  Jon studies Jennie critically for a moment and then says in a soft, thoughtful
voice,  "Well,   there's nothing wrong with your eyesight."               He never heard the shot....
Oct. 10 pm Deadline for Friday's Communicator is Wednesday evening at midnight. Get your classifieds, events, etc emailed ASAP.
Thanks

Oct. 9 am There's a ton of stuff going on in Clayberry this week.
Oct. 9 am  Tonight WYAP (101.7FM) will interview candidate for the House of Delegates, 29th District, Margaret Staggers (D) at 6pm
followed by 11th District Senator Randy White (D) at 7pm. By the way, all candidates for office have been invited to the station for
questions/answers including Robert C Byrd and John Raese.
Oct. 9 am  Tuesday at 5pm, Clay County PSD will hold their regular monthly meeting in their Main Street Clay digs across from the
Courthouse.
Oct. 9 am Wednesday morning at 10 am the County Commission will hold their first of two monthly meetings.
Oct. 9 am Thursday evening Clay Roane PSD is scheduled to have their monthly gathering.
Oct. 9 am   Before last Thursday's BDA meeting, Boardster RT Sizemore resigned citing a conflict of schedule. We understand another
BDAer has also resigned.
Oct. 9 am Missing a dog? Dog Catcher Walter Stutler has three listed including:  Brown and white part Beagle captured in the Pisgah area
of the county Oct. 5th;  small, short black haired dog captured Oct. 5th in the Lizemores area; and from Oct. 4th, a mixed black and white
male, small dog captured near State Road garage.  Animals are held seven days. The clock is ticking. To contact the dog catcher dial
286-5225.
Oct. 9 am   A man and his wife are dining at a table in a plush restaurant,   and the husband keeps staring at a drunken lady swigging her
drink as  she sits  alone at a nearby table.   The wife asks, "Do you know her?"   "Yes," sighs the husband, "She's my ex-girlfriend. I
understand she took  to drinking right after we split up seven years ago, and I  hear she hasn't  been sober since."   "My Goodness!" says
the wife, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"
Oct. 8 pm This Sunday afternoon we're under blue skies and bright sunshine. Quite a change from last few days when many of us had
on sweaters and a hat. We're still a week from peak Fall colors,  Sycamores, Dogwoods, and Elms are already rust brown in color. From
the last seven days, it's been very interesting
Oct. 8 pm They say they have a lock on morality and religious principals, but this week Republirats ran and hid. Calls for the ouster of
Hastert came from both sids of the aisle. Jokes came too, It's time to turn over a new page was at the top of the pile. A majority of
Americans think the Republirats in Washington tried to cover up Foley's folly. To have even known Mark Foley is Foleyscide. And that
may include any of those on the Congressional page oversight committee.
Oct. 8 pm   With W crossing the nation continuing to say we've turned the corner in Iraq, for once, he was right, just the wrong corner!
Now every minor player in the terrorist game is after our soldiers both in Iraq and Afghanistan. The soldiers themselves are wondering,
what are we doing here.
Oct. 8 pm We're now into our 5th year of saving the world. We can't even control our one toe hold, Bagdad. Nearly 800 troops were
injured last month alone.  In this country, we don't even know there is a war going on. What war?
Oct. 8 pm  There have been 2,968 coalition deaths, 2,735 Americans, two Australians, 118 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, six Danes, two
Dutch, two Estonians, one Fijian, one Hungarian, 32 Italians, one Kazakh, one Latvian, 17 Poles, two Romanians, two Salvadoran, three
Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of October 6, 2006, according to a CNN count.
Oct. 8 pm Some are wondering, how come gas prices are going down just weeks before the election. Hmmmmmmm......
Oct. 8 pm  10 days back TV-8 aired a smear campaign on Senator Randy White. Their effort included naked pictures of adults drinking
and covering themselves with paint. To cover TV-8 lawsuit butts, they claimed an extortion plot. This week Sen White went on Public TV
and said: the pictures were on his personal computer and an ex employee had stolen them. White said he couldn't help but think the entire
saga was nothing less than dirty WV politics at its worst.
Oct. 8 pm True he was a dumb bunny for even having the pictures, White said he would bring a suit against TV-8. Good.
Oct. 8 pm  We have 3 1/2 weeks before Election Day. Sure will be interesting to see if the thief's name is made public and that person's
connection to campaigning. Dirty politics alive and well in West Virginia
Oct. 8 pm  High technology, trips to outer space, and cameras able to see thru walls, and Clay County Schools still have outbreaks of
head lice. We've got em now. Itty little bugs jumping from one grader schooler to the next. But we sure don't mention such in public.
Oct. 8 pm  This week Congresswoman Capito, Delegate Pino, and 11th District Senatorial want a bee Pete Sigler made public their views
on community radio WYAP-LP. Couldn't help but notice their well honed abilities to not answer questions.
Oct. 8 pm After months of out of control behavior,  picking fights and drunken thugery, Warrior Mike, Mikey Lanham, went back to the
slammer for 90 days plus probation to follow afterwards.  At one point he stood and showed the court a big long scar where, according to
him, bad guys tried to cut out his guts. He said it was that ace cub reporter that deserved to go to jail!
Oct. 8 pm   All along, in Court, Mikey said he was the good guy and had he known he wasn't getting probation or just a few days in jail,
he wouldn't have plead guilty. We believe him this time.
Oct. 8 pm  For months, years, we have seen the Clay County Business Development Authority hold meetings with little in the way of
results to show for their time on the Board. Thursday night the BDA imploded. CAEZ Director Connie Lupardus brought it to a head
when she said she knew they didn't want the CAEZ messing with their agency, assisting with projects, and didn't want her involved. The
meeting got tense as the BDA went at it.
Oct. 8 pm Last month, BDAer Fran King was absent from duty. Why? We think because she was miffed at the group. This month,
Leonard Williams was gone. Sure he could have been out doing something important like counting utility poles but.... we think , his
absence  is just one more sign of internal strife for the single minded lead economic development agency.
Oct. 8 pm As the BDA imploded, the CAEZ backed Buffalo Creek and Gauley RR group made giant steps forward.
Oct. 8 pm During their quarterly meeting, the BC&G RR Co-Op announced the purchase of a 25 ton GE diesel locomotive and two
cabooses ($25,000). They said they plan to purchase the first few miles of track later this month and have the new rolling stock on the
rails by year's end.
Oct. 8 pm During that packed from wall to wall meeting Saturday, the BC&G OK'd the construction of a new 40 by 70, two story
Welcome Center (please don't tell Leonard about that please), dining room, guest rooms, and office space building at the JG Bradley
Campground at Dundon. The contractor (Damon Grose) said he wasn't sure when he would get started but, he would have the new
facility under roof  30 days after beginning construction.
Oct. 8 pm Ever have trouble getting people to a meeting? The BC&G doesn't. They came from all over the state. It seems people outside
the county once again know the future for this county is in tourism.   Step aside nay sayers, there's a new group in town and they're
actually doing something!
Oct. 8 pm   They'll never accomplish anything!!!!!!!   They're all talk!!!!!!     For those still thinking contankerous ole Roger Nutter is
just blowing smoke... step aside please and that includes the BDA.
Oct. 7 LATE pm  Orval Dennis Rogers, 83, see OBITUARY page
Oct. 7 am No celebration for Clay High last night. Roane County barely slid past the Panthers,  20 to 6.
Oct. 7 am Don't say there's nothing to do in Clayberry. Today there's a bunch
Oct. 7 am The County Wide Yard Sale begins at the Courthouse at 9 am. Bring your junk and make some $. No charge to set up!
Oct. 7 am Other yard sales throughout the county too
Oct. 7 am The Walk for Women begins at 10 am

Oct. 7 am  For those staying home , how about some interesting web surfing on the WV Auditor's office...
Oct. 7 am How about a listing county by county of all the delinquent lands in WV
Oct. 7 am Ever wonder how Excess Levy rates compared county to county? Here's the School Board Excess Levy for Clay. Once there,
just go to the bottom and click for other counties. Note: You have to have Access and/or Excel installed on your PC to view.
Oct. 7 am  How about a listing of all the delinquent tax bills on public utilities. and here's one local utility of interest.
Oct. 7 am  'Good exercise for seniors'  . . .    I just came across this exercise suggested for seniors, to  build muscle strength in the arms
and shoulders. It seems so easy, I  thought I'd pass it on to some of my friends and family. The article  suggested doing it three days a
week. Begin by standing on a  comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb  potato sack in each hand,
extend your arms straight out from your sides and  hold them there as long as you can.   Try to reach a full minute,  then relax. Each day,
you'll find that you can hold this position for just a  bit longer.   After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato sacks.  Then 50-lb
potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a
minute. (I'm at this level) !!   After you feel confident at that  level, put a potato in each of the sacks.
Oct. 7 am       A young lady in the maternity ward just prior to labour is asked by the midwife if she would like her husband to be present
at the birth. "I'm afraid I don't have a husband" she replies.   "O.K. Do you have a boyfriend?" asks the Midwife.   "No, no boyfriend
either."  "Do you have a partner then?"   "No, I'm not attached, I'll be having my baby on my own."   After the birth the midwife again
speaks to the young woman, "You have a healthy bouncing baby girl, but I must warn you before you see her that the baby is black."
"Well," replies the girl, "I was very down on my luck, with no money and nowhere to live, and so I accepted a job in a porn film. The lead
man was black."   "Oh, I'm very sorry," says the midwife, "that's really none of my Business and I'm sorry that I have to ask you these
awkward questions but I must also tell you that the baby has blonde hair."  "Well yes," the girl again replies, "you see the co-star in the
movie was this Swedish guy."  "Oh, I'm sorry," the midwife repeats, "that's really none of my business either and I hate to pry further but
your baby also has slanted eyes."  "Yes," continues the girl, "there was a little Chinese man also in the movie, I really had no choice."   At
this, the midwife again apologizes, collects the baby and presents her to the girl, who immediately proceeds to give the baby a slap on the
bum. The baby starts crying and the mother exclaims, "Thank god for that!"   "What do you mean?" says the midwife, shocked.  "Well,"
says the girl extremely relieved, "I had this horrible feeling that she was going to bark."
Oct. 6 am Hello Brian L, good morning
Oct. 6 am Here's some catching up folks....
Oct. 6 am  Wednesday afternoon Kevin Duffy should have won an Oscar for his Court room showmanship. The fellow charged with
killing Thelma Thomas, Dewey Owsley, went before Magistrate Jeff Boggs for  a probable cause hearing. Duffy, that's Mr Beanpole, was
up, down, yelling, and got in several digs at the Prosecutor's office. On more than one occasion Magistrate Boggs loudly told Beanpole,
that would be enough of those remarks!!!!!  Beanpole continued.
Oct. 6 am Not sure the reason for his courtroom acting, but he certainly got one thang out in the open. Owsley, pronounced Owls-lee,
had been doing some sour mash whiskey drinking before confessing to the murder. Not sure how serious a problem that is for the
Prosecution side but certainly an issue.  Probable cause was found.
Oct. 6 am Yesterday Mikey Lanham went before Magistrate Mike King on battery and destruction of property charges from April 6
2006. Lanham was charged with bashing the ace cub reporter and smashing his spectacles. A before hearing deal removed the destruction
charge but with Lanham agreeing to pay for the damaged property just the same. When given the time to speak, Lanham said he was a
good person compared to the Mel Gibson look alike and agreed to the plea. He felt the deal was worked for him to receive just 60 days in
the slammer or better yet, probation.  Magistrate King thought different.
Oct. 6 am  Iron Mikey got 12 months in the slammer, one year's probation with random pee tests, and he has to pay for the damaged
property (eye glasses). Nine months of the sentence was suspended. Translation: he will be off the streets for 90 days and then probation
for a year.
Oct. 6 am  At one point he stood, lifted his shirt and showed his scar from a more recent bar fight where he was stabbed. He told the
Court he did not make mince meat of Marion Asbury... that Asbury was drunk, had fallen to the ground, and he was merely  standing over
the old guy asking him, what's going on.
Oct. 6 am  When it started sinking in he wasn't a getting a sweetheart deal, Warrior Mike steamed up and made mention, 500 people had
patted him on the back for punching Waddell in the mouth. Yelp he said it right in court. He told the Judge he didn't like the deal change,
and would have never agreed to it  had he known a longer sentence was coming.
Oct. 6 am And then there was last night's Business Development Authority (BDA)  meeting. Chair Leonard Williams wasn't present. The
first 50 minutes were quiet....
Oct. 6 am Although nothing knew for  our regular clickers and Communicator readers, there is a rift between the BDA and CAEZ for
years. That divide is about as wide as the Grand Canyon.  Of course when the Communicator mentions it in print, the Chair raises H,
threatens to take the reporter out back and such, BUT,   that rift has been going on for years. Over the last several months, more intense.
Last night much more intense.
Oct. 6 am CAEZ Chair Connie Lupardus made it clear she knew they didn't want her or the CAEZ anywhere near the BDA. She said it
was crazy for the two agencies to be butting heads, many of the projects could be better worked on together, each agency could be a
resource for the other...
Oct. 6 am    There is a reason for the CAEZ Chair being removed from the BDA a few months back. She embarrasses them.
Oct. 6 am The embarrassment comes when the BDA stumbles around an idea and then Lupardus mentions she has been working on it
for and had already made contact tele calls. The problems comes when the BDA tries to do something secret (without CAEZ knowing)
only to find out, Lupardus had already been there ahead of em!
Oct. 6 am  Last night, Lupardus was more than a  little firm, she told the BDA,  she was afraid such dumbarss non cooperating behavior
(we added the dumbarss part) could cause recent grant awards to be scuttled. The $200,000 for the BC&G RR and the $68,000 grant to
the BDA was mentioned.
Oct. 6 am  Scuttled? Has happened before clickers
Oct. 6 am   Just last year (April 13 2005) after PSD Boardster Melissa Postelwait slapped the snot out of another Boardster, water
project funds were immediately put on hold until MP went off the Board. When we talked to  a funder back then, they made it clear, until
the PSD can act semi professional or at least not look stupid in public, no $ would come their way.
Oct. 6 am During the Sept BDA meeting, Chair Williams made comments about the BDA and that ace cub reporter getting on the same
page. Sounds like Williams needs to do some internal adjustments first.   More as we get it clickers. Just another day in Clayberry..
Oct. 4 pm Saturday's Courthouse Square Yard Sale is On!!!! So far we have 8 signed to set up tables. All spaces are first come first
served without reservation. Bring your own table and make some $. See EVENTS page.
Oct. 4 pm  This is Willie Nelson's public statement regarding being caught with a bag of Marijuana: "It's a good thing I had a bag of
Marijuana instead of a bag of spinach.   I'd be dead by now."
Oct. 4 pm  DRIVING ETIQUETTE ***    1. Dim your headlights for approaching vehicles; even if the gun is loaded, and the deer is in
sight.   2. When approaching a four-way stop, the vehicle with the largest tires always has the right of way.   3. Never tow another car
using panty hose and duct tape.   4. When sending your wife down the road with a gas can, it is impolite to ask her to bring back beer.  5.
Never relieve yourself from a moving vehicle, especially when driving.   6. Do not lay rubber while traveling in a funeral procession.
Oct. 4 pm  TWO REASONS WHY IT IS HARD TO SOLVE A WEST VIRGINIA MURDER:   1. All the DNA is the same.   2. There
are no dental records.
Oct. 4 am  Community radio 101.7 FM  is hosting on air discussions with those seeking office this Nov. Today at 4pm Republican
candidate for the 11th Senatorial seat Harold A "Pete" Sigler will answer questions followed by US Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito
at 5pm. Each candidate will spend about 45 minutes on the live mic.
Oct. 4 am  For those more than a few miles from the station, you can listen in on the internet by going to their website wyap.com or
clayfm.com and then click the blinking ON AIR button the middle of that home page. Be sure to have your speakers turned up.
Oct. 4 am  After that radio interview, the Republicrats are hosting a reception for the Congresswoman at Helen Reed and Mary Ward's

much luck with 'em!"

Oct. 3 pm It's been a  long time since we had first hand information on the ambulance service in Clay. We've got it now.
Oct. 3 pm The county's only emergency service provider showed up for Monday's County Commission meeting.  Based on those public
discussions...    County residents have been complaining to the CCC. Employees of the ambulance service have been complaining to the
CCC.  and elected body has been paying attention.
Oct. 3 pm  Of course many of us with scanners have heard mix ups, slow responses, no crews on duty when needed, stalled responses
for not having a paramedic available, and an overzealous use of HealthNet choppers.
Oct. 3 pm Sounded like the CCC stepped in a few weeks ago, established call out policies, set up an overtime reducing schedule, and
demanded professional performance on the job (no sleeping where the public can see) and on the radio.
Oct. 3 pm The employees came to Monday's meeting to get the CCC to change their minds. Didn't happen.
Oct. 3 pm   Instead,  Commissioner King pretty much said, you work for us and if you don't like your job, go find another.   Maybe not
the best way to handle workers, but effective none the less.
Oct. 3 pm Keep in mind, scanner listeners don't hear everything. When the ambulance crews were provided cell phones, radio
conversations went down. On the much less public cell phone, the real screw ups can be kept away from our prying ears.
Oct. 3 pm Last night the School Board in regular session. Bob Morris from CCHS had  a bunch of his FFA students on hand to show
their top finish awards from the recent state FFA Competition.  CCHS placed third overall among the 54 schools.
Oct. 3 pm  PERSONAL HYGIENE TIPS:  1. While ears need to be cleaned regularly, this is a job that should be done in private using
one's OWN truck keys.     2. Proper use of  toiletries can forestall bathing for several days.  However, if you live alone, deodorant is a
waste of good money.      3. Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a social no-no, as they tend to detract from a woman's jewelry and
alter the taste of finger foods
Oct. 3 pm The Board was supportive of his request for $ to attend  national FFA competition later this fall.
Oct. 3 am  The internet was running reaaaaaaaaaaaaaal slow last night. Will do a proper post when it gets back to decent

keep this thing up and running.
Oct. 3 am And yes it was a juicy Commission meeting Monday. Post coming.

Oct. 2 am With that out of the way... Phil Kabler with the Charleston Gazette is reporting Senator Randy White pulled off the Nov
General Election ballot last Friday, one day after TV 8 did an on air smear campaign. With ballots already printed and if Kabler's report is
correct, what happens next?
Oct. 2 am Lets say Sen White actually pulls out of the race but still wins. Then the Executive Committees will be meet and select a
replacement until the next election.
Oct. 2 am Lets say the Republicrat challenger Pete Sigler doesn't meet residency requirements and can't be seated. If he wins in
November, then their Executive Committee would select a replacement for a two year term.
Oct. 2 am In a worse case scenario where the incumbent pulls out and the challenger would become unseatable, the people of the 11th
Senatorial District would have NO say in who  represents us in Charleston until the next election in 2008.
Oct. 1 am Our ARCHIVE page has now been updated.  Communicator's posted over there include nice color pictures of the Lizemore
Day Celebration, the BC&G RR Groundbreaking Ceremony, and the 33rd Big Apple. Remember, for the largest image, right click and
Oct. 1 am  From the email bag:  I just want to say thank you to the family who responded and donated furniture to my disabled parents
in Clay Co.  You know who you are.  Thank you and God Bless.  From Malisa in VA
Oct. 1 am  Over the last seven days...
Oct. 1 am  Our right wing conservative Christian majority Republican run Congress received more egg on their faces as one of their own
resigned from office after the media made public sexually perverted email correspondence between Florida Rep Mark Foley and a 16 year
old Congressional page. By the way, Mr. Foley was Chair of the Missing and Exploited Children Causes. Maybe he was just doing some
field testing.
Oct. 1 am  Who would talk to Bob Woodward? Apparently everybody. In his new book, Woodward exposes the behind the scenes
White House bickering, fighting, and ineptness of our White House.  Does the Constitution still apply in the USA? Can you be arrested and
detained without knowing the reason? Do we live in a police state?
Oct. 1 am No one mentioned the increased violence in Afghanistan.  The war dead number increased and no one noticed.  There have
been 2,942 coalition deaths, 2,711 Americans, two Australians, 117 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, five Danes, two Dutch, two Estonians, one
Fijian, one Hungarian, 32 Italians, one Kazakh, one Latvian, 17 Poles, two Romanians, two Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two
Thai and 18 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of September 29, 2006, according to a CNN count.
  Oct. 1 am Gas prices went down; Clay County PSD got official notice their 15% water rate increase was approved by the WV PSC;
and,  fireplaces & stoves warmed homes as night temps fell into the 40s.
Oct. 1 am Here at home, the action came as the week was closing.
Oct. 1 am Thursday evening TV 8 news aired several pictures of Senator Randy White, naked, drinking what appeared to be wine, and
with two other naked guys. One guy was shown wearing blue body paint! No, nothing sexual  but none the less, naked as a Jay bird.
According to TV 8, White and his attorney contend extortion and the photos were stolen from the Senator's computer.
Oct. 1 am  For making such pictures and for keeping them on a computer, of course, our dumbarss of the week award go to Mr White
BUT, there is a certain smell in the air,  there is something more....
Oct. 1 am  This close to election and the pictures were left at the Mariott Hotel by an anonymous person ....  It smells of West Virginia
politics at their worst!    We know how much the blue bloods in the 11th Senatorial District wanted White out of office during the Spring
Primary... you have to wonder how far they would go to see their desires accomplished in Nov.
Oct. 1 am  Why do they want him out? We asked Senator White that question last April. He responded that he worked hard to support
working class West Virginians and felt the push was on to get someone more "in tune" with big business in office.
Oct. 1 am One other note, that TV 8 report didn't have legs. No other main stream media outlet picked it up. Not the Gazette, the Daily
Mail, not even right wing FOX News 11, the sister company to TV 8. The official news cycle went dead immediately. That alone has to
make you wonder on the authenticity of the pics.
Oct. 1 am  Why would someone try to burn down a steel construction crane? Chief of Police Arthur Jarrett couldn't answer that
question. According to King Arthur, vandals set one the cranes on fire at the Dundon Bridge Ski Slope site early Friday morning. One of
the Fire Trucks in route to the blaze damaged an electrical box at the Clay Water Plant as he turned the balky vehicle around there.
Oct. 1 am After sitting in jail for 6 months and 2 days, Earnie Davis was turned loose Friday morning. He was originally charged with
fighting with his brother on March 27th. Later Friday, we noticed two Black Shirt cruisers at Prestera. Davis' troubles may not be over.
Oct. 1 am  Mid day Saturday, Health Bd member Joe Morris assaulted that ace cub reporter when he slapped to the carpet the seated
reporter's glasses and raised a fist.  Morris was mad because a picture of his truck (license plate distorted) was shown on our home page
parked in a handicapped only space. During the noon time "engagement" at The Communicator's Main Street office, Morris displayed a
blue and white wheelchair parking permit laying on the dash of his pick up.
Oct. 1 am Let's see now... entering without breaking into a private office,  at the least an assault if not a battery charge, and destruction
of property.
Oct. 1 am From public meeting coverage, we know Mr Morris' opinion on education. Now we know how he prefers to handle life in
general. Great conduct by a public official and a guy who wanted to be the top law enforcement badge on more than one occasion.
Oct. 1 am Yesterday afternoon, Demorats from all walks of life attended their Executive Committee's Annual Picnic. With the General
Election just five weeks away and no excuse voting just a couple weeks away, there were smiles and hand shakes galore. People openly
talked about Dubbya's war effort and his dismal performance in office. There was a feeling that this might be the year Congress would
return to Demorat control.
Oct. 1 am Even if that happens, can the damage done to our country by the current administration EVER be undone. Just ask the
Mothers, Dads, brothers, sister, and friends of those 2942 killed in Dubbya's Oil War.
