What’s Wrong?
We are living in difficult and troubled
times. Adversities abound all across the land. Rebellion, suicides,
mass murders and drugs abound. That seems to be more and more the
norm in the society in which we live. Why?
It can be traced back to the foolishness
of taking prayer out of schools. Really it goes back to the Garden
of Eden but that wasn’t our fault. Taking the Bible out of the classroom
and removing the 10 Commandments from our courtrooms falls on our lap.
The Church did not resist the changes as it should and the citizens outcry
was minimal.
The home-life began to suffer as
children often did not have the mentoring of a strong fatherly example
and mothers many times abandoned their role of a loving parent. Thank
God this has not always been the case and security and love still abounds
in many homes.
Morality has suffered immensely
all across the land. Alcoholism has become a disease instead of a
bad choice. Drugs have become the scape-goat for many criminal activities.
When the churches become empty and the jails and mental health facilities
are overwhelmed that would tell us something if we were listening.
God, through His Holy Word has given
us a plan that will make the family a stronghold and the government a responsible
leader when the wisdom given is applied. However, standing in
the way of God’s plan are barriers of greed, selfishness, self-righteousness,
religion, ego, pride, politics etc. These are individual and national
walls.
There is an answer. It is
found in 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land. That was a word to Israel. God doesn’t change so
that same word calls out to us as well. Today, Jesus Christ is the
answer through what He accomplished at Calvary. Where do you stand?
Maranatha!
