NEW CHRISTMAS EVENTS COMIN'
Deliciously Vivid Meets

With the turnout getting smaller, the Deliciously Vivid members gathered on November 4, 2019. We are hoping it is due to the colder weather, and it will pick back up in the spring.
First item on the list was reading the meeting minutes from the last meeting. Then the treasurers report. After spending $275 on 501C paperwork, and $127.07 on wood for flower boxes to be placed around the new welcome signs, they have $1,831.75 in the bank.
Dwayne Cottrell, president, was pleased to announce the overwhelming positive feedback from the Fall Festival. Many have asked it they could make it a two day event next year instead of one. The residences were pleased to not have to pay for any events due to them being covered by the community.
There were some negative comments, like not enough food trucks, and some believe Halloween was ruined due to date change, but for most, it was a wonderful occasion. With only 21 days to gather ideas and make the festival happen, it was quite the success.
The  “Wings” mural will go up in the spring since the weather is staying in the colder temperatures. Soon they will be painting the steps going up to the fire house with piano keys in mind.
November 23rd , 2019 we will have a “Gun and Knife Show.” They encourage any locals to set up a table to sell your goods. There will be vendors from other areas as well. There will be a small fee to become a vendor, just call 304-651-3337 for more details. Admission fee will be $5 per person.
The board is planning a “Whoville Christmas” this year. What all that entails, we will have to wait to find out. On December 14th, they will place a large Christmas tree in town for the community to decorate. This is also the day the Parks and Recreation committee will be holding the Christmas parade, so look forward to another all day event.
Starting right at Thanksgiving, you will be able to turn in your submissions for the winners of the “Clay Light Fight.” This is a Christmas decorating contest. All you have to do is post the pictures to the page, and the two that get the most votes online will then be setting up two boxes in town. This is where people will donate non perishable goods to vote for their favorite. The winner will gain a gift basket. There is no admissions fee into the contest.
That concludes the meeting this time around. Next meeting will be held on December 2nd, 2019 at 6pm at Town Hall, and not the courthouse.
