At 6pm on December 2nd, 2019, Deliciously Vivid gathered
at Town Hall to reflect on the gun show, and to discuss upcoming events.
In just 20 days, they had to plan everything for the gun show. Once again,
in short order, they were successful at setting up a very fruitful event.
They were able to raise over $2,300 for their organization. Add more donations,
and deduct some for purchasing Christmas gifts, decorations, and miscellaneous,
they have $3,585.08 in the bank.
The first Annual Christmas Festival will be held on December
14th. So far they have over 300 gifts to distribute to children 9 and under.
For those age 10 through 18 will be able to win one of the twenty $10 gift
cards. Adults will get a chance to win one of the 2 family baskets.
They were happy to announce that they will be finalizing
a grant of around $5 thousand to $7 thousand to set up a larger, and more
informative Geocaching through the county. It was stated during the meeting
that people plan their vacations around geocaching, and they want to draw
more attention to the town to promote tourism.
Deliciously Vivid finally received their 501 3 C certificate,
and are officially a non profit organization. They will now have access
to a larger amount of resources to promote activities and give to the community.
A real Christmas tree has been donated for the celebration
by Ralph White. This is the tree the children will be decorating ornaments
for that very day. There will be tons of ornaments and pine cones to decorate!
They are still receiving donations for more of each.
Clay Middle School teacher, Tracy Wayne, will be
bringing the “Monday Night Players” to play in the evening after the parade.
The Board wants to encourage people to decorate the parking
meters for Christmas. Refer to the flier for the phone number to contact
for the activity. Also the Clay County Light Fight is now on. Decorate
your homes for Christmas, nominate yourself, nominate a friend to win the
competition. Check out : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1588577604579551/?multi_permalinks=2345067858930518¬if_id=1575380153935823¬if_t=group_activity
