Crusty ole Don "The Admiral" Jarvis wearing a hat his Mother made for
him.
Based on his ripe young age, that hat was made before the Civil War!
Pics from December 7, 2019 at the Kentucky Museum of Aviation.; Helen Watson at the Navy Museum managed to have it cut off and shipped to Pensacola for eventual restoration. No money was available, as I understand it, so it sat out in the open, rain and hurricanes doing their part of it's destruction, until it was loaned to the Kentucky museum. Three cardboard boxes full of various control boxes were found and managed to be save to use in the restoration. Names of folks that flew in the plane were given to the museum and they chose the ones to use. They used Don as he flew thousands of hours on this plane. He was recognized at the program and dinner that night at the museum. See his name on the plane. he was in his glory. He loved serving his country.
