Logan Samples (DOB 4/15/00, #44)- was arrested for sexual assault 2nd,
domestic battery, and strangulation. Here are the details of the criminal
complaint.
On Sunday, September 8th, 2019, officer TFC S.L. Bass was contacted by
Clay County 911 in reference to a domestic battery call located in Dundon.
Upon arriving on scene, officer Bass made contact with the victim, a 17
year old female who will be identified as CH. CH states that she and the
suspect identified as Matthew Samples had agreed to meet up and talked
about things regarding their relationship. She states that leading up to
this meeting, the suspect had been verbally abusive towards her, and that
she no longer wanted to pursue a relationship with the subject.
CH states that after making contact with the suspect, he was again being
verbally abusive, and was very upset. At this time, she managed to activate
the camera on her phone, and a partial video of the suspect was observed
by officer Bass, and the rest of the recording was audio.
CH then stated she told the suspect that she wanted to leave, and at that
point she stated that Samples sated to her not before I get what I want.
She stated that he then opened her car door and began trying to touch her.
She states that she told the suspect over and over to stop touching her,
and that she was not going to have sex with him.
At this point, CH stated that he used his left hand to grab her around
her neck and began choking her. She further states that she could not breath,
and was trying to yell, but could not. She then states that the suspect
pushed her down into the passenger side of her vehicle and got on top of
her and hit her in the face. She stated that during the struggle, she grabbed
her phone, and as able to hit a contact on her phone and send a video message
to a friend who later stated that she could hear the victim crying, an
telling Samples to get off of her and not to touch her. She sates that
she was able to get away from him when another friend arrived on the scene
and Sample fled in his vehicle.
CH states that while Samples as on top of her, that he put his hands down
her shorts and did digitally penetrate her vagina, and also tried to take
her shirt off and grabbed her breasts.
