BIG HALLOWEEN PLANS

The winner is Lydia, standing, left

On Monday, October 7, 2019, the Deliciously Vivid meeting started without two of the board (Chair, Dwayne Cottrell and Ashley Truman) present, and a lot of talk about the upcoming Fall Festival.
The treasurer’s report yielded great results with $1 thousand in donations for the Oct 26th festival. They had $2,937.54 in the bank at the time of the meeting. They paid $454.75 for some bounce houses, and $83.74 worth of items from the Dollar Tree for some activities for the festival.
They were happy to announce to have collected around 180 pumpkins for children to paint or draw to have carved, as well as a big canvas for all the children to paint on. There will also be a sensory activity with cooked spaghetti noodles for the children to hunt for creepy things. There will be a parade at 5:30 pm, road will be closed for the event.
Pumpkin drop assembly will start at noon, you must bring your own pumpkin and materials, and must be assembled on the spot. You will have 1 hour to prepare your pumpkin, then the fun begins. There will be a few things laced to take your selfies in front of, like a coffin, pumpkin wall, etc. So far, there are 23 vendors, and each of them will be asked to donate something to the basket they will be raffling off.
Health Department will have free popcorn along with some activities, and flu shots. This isn’t all that will be there. It will be a very fun day to take the little ones to enjoy a day of festivities. Stay tuned for a flier of all the events.
Next meeting will be held October 21st to assemble those that will be participating in the festival, and was called “Fall Festival Get Our S*** Together,” as quoted by Vanessa Dunigan as a joke.
There was only one submission for the wings interactive mural. The winner is Michael Shamblin’s daughter, Lydia Shamblin.
The next regular meeting will be held on November 4th, at 6 pm at the courthouse. From now on, they will meet on the first Monday of each Month.
