It Got White in Jan 2022

Jan 2022 brought more snow accumulations than all of 2021 and 2020.
Thursday Jan 6th had weathercasters hopping with updates. Schools shut down at noon. About everything else closed down as well. Ridge tops received upwards of 10 inches of the white stuff over night. Darn cold too.
Used to be, kids couldn't wait to get outside for snow ball fights and snowman building. We didn't see any of that after this snow fall.

By Saturday Jan 9th , main arteries thru the county were cleaned off nicely. That was not the case for side roads that for many , were impassable.

It's a nice idea to have a non perishable food box for those in need. For this snow blast, the Clayberry food pantry at the Courthouse was bare.

Here's a couple examples of impassable side roads on Saturday Jan 8th

Then came snow number 2, Jan 16th
. For this weather event there was three days of advance notice. Every loaf of bread and gallon of milk in the county was sold.
Although the snow fall amounted to around 6 inches, the mix included lots of sleet and ice. Things got very slippery real quick.
Trees came down bringing with em, power lines. For many, without electric, it got cold real quick. The lucky ones powered up their generators. Others had cold feet.

Monday mid day, MLK Jr day, here's a side road that had never seen a salt shaker or plow blade.

How bad was it? Many eateries closed including Subway and Ginos
