Here's a portion of a letter penned by Mercedes Paxton on Jan 12th. Yes we see who signed it and second one that went to H E White, both are identical (escept for the principle's name) and came from the top dog.
As the number one
employer in the county, our school system is a power broker,
the big fish in a teeny tiny pond. There's no doubt about
that.
When those big boys get kicked in the teeth, like losing an Excess Levy vote, they come back with retaliation, dirty tricks and outright lies. The idea is to skeer people into submission. Fear tactics only work when leadership is smart enough to make their words and writings believable. For the Pentagon and head of the School Board, they can not muster the brain power to carry off such a mission. They ain't got it!
In addition to lack of brain power, they don't have the reputation. People have watched them work over the years and know, don't trust anything they say.
Let's talk about those Jan 12 2022 letters sent out to parents of H E White and Big Odor Elementary schools. Just above is a portion we're concerned about today. Sorry it looks so crappy but it was dug it out of a trash can.
From both letters, the number one item was closing H E White. They've already done that twice in the past 25 years. They see no good in keeping the smallest school in the County open. A Court order forced them to restore the school and reopen it in middle 90's.
As for closing it again, ain't going to happen. Reason: the power brokers know, 100% know, if that school is closed, they will lose every board member. It will take this election cycle and one more to achieve it but for certain, Dave Mullins, Dave Pierson, Cheryl White, Morgy Triplett, and Susan Bodkins will be tossed aside. Better yet, with a new Board in place or even with just three new Boardsters this May, Mercedes Paxton and all the BS he's responsible for, they know, he too will be flushed away like used toilet paper.
For those believing Paxton's letter on closing H E White.. put it out of your mind. It's a non starter. They have to stay in power, it's their only goal in life.
Number 2 on their list of arm twisting is getting rid of after school activity buses. In the call for the Levy, they mention that the excess $$$ pays $65K on that bill. Now think about it. Does anybody think for a second that athletic contests will be discontinued? It's actually the only part of the school system that the Pentagon knows they cannot touch.
Covering the cost of activity buses is already paid for by the Century 21 and Title 1 grants. AS a matter of fact, we think the Title 1 grant mandates such activity buses for students taking after school classes, activities, and tutoring.
How important are the activity buses? So important, right now in a House of Delegates Bill, when passed, it will require county school systems to provide the runs no matter what.
Item 3 on the above list reads free admission to home games cannot be provided by the Pentagon. Amid great fanfare, the Board proudly told the world, the Clay County Bank takes care of those ticket sales. Truth is, if we remember correctly, the CCB covers half the admission costs for students.
The question is, has the Pentagon talked with their biggest partner before making that threat? How does the local bank feel about it and all the good press they have received over the years? Actually, even the thought about no free passes to ball games, that's simply retaliation for those that voted no on their precious cash pot Levy.
Item 4 Go back up there and closely read the artfully words passage on free meals. It doesn't say it will be done away with. So confused were the kids this week, some were afraid to eat their meal this week for fear of running up some big bill. Announcements had to be made to the rug rats, go ahead and eat and No we will not charge you.
Item 4 was a true threat to poor parents as the Board makes another attempt at running a second attempt vote. What a despicable tactic!
Their threats go on and on. More will be coming soon.
But, it gets worser. They know many of their own employees voted down the Levy on the 29th. Those employees have to be beat down and right away.
What's the easiest way to do it?
Send out scum sucking moles and get quotes on tape from the wayward employees and promise em stuff like: You either vote for the Levy or you will be fired or your cousin , Mother, uncle etc., will be fired. IF that arm twisting tactic hasn't begun yet, it's coming real soon.
Some of this BS might be doable if people believed them. EXCEPT, the Board and Pentagon is absolutely full of lies. No one believes em or trusts them.
Saturday evening during the count which was obviously failing, "company man" (bus driver) Dustin Fitzwater spouted out, "There's so many lies out there!" He was referring to the Ace Cub Reporter who was standing nearby. For once, Dustin was correct but like a boomerang. The Pentagon had spread so many lies, no one believed a word they said about the Levy.
Before ending, reread those levy count. If you look closely and compare to the last election, there were NOT more no voters. Instead, they lost a couple of their "Yes" voters. That should tell em something before a second attempt.
Finally, one last thought, the School system has always been riddled with rotten doings. They building up to retry the Levy. One thing they don't know is, they can't try and stuff the excess taxation down our throats until after the General Election in Nov. When they realize that, boy are they going to be peed!
