Hiram Carson Lewis IV
Jan 5 2022
Hiram Lewis has been a
colorful feller here in County Clay.
At one point, Attorney Lewis was an up and coming political
face to be reckoned with. For the first time out of the chute,
the guy ran for W Va Attorney General. When the dust settled,
Hiram came within 1/2 a percentage point from beating long
time AG, Darrell McGraw. Back then, Lewis was the darling of
the Republicrap world.
That was in the good ole days. Since then, things have
spiraled down for the 51 year old.
There was a time when he got arrested for shooting his
room mate down on Elkhurst Road. After several court
appearances and several nights in the slammer, a jury found
him not guilty of the charges.
Somewhere down the road, things changed. Instead
of a clean cut looking, good at handling controversial court
cases, his life changed and not in a good way.
Living on Elkhurst, he had a couple dozen dogs living
in his house. Outside the small run down residence, the place
was piled sky high with trash and garbage. It got so bad, he
moved into another building down there and started the Fred
Sanford bit again.
Three years ago, neighbors were phoning in complaints
over the rotten conditions, rotten smell and his lack of care
for the animals.
Two years ago, animal cruelty complaints came in
on Lewis not feeding a couple horses. Starving them was
thought to be going on.
With warrants floating around here in Clayberry
and over in Roane County, Hiram Lewis skedaddled. Sightings
were seen down in Florida where his family owned property.
Occasionally, Lewis could be seen driving thru County Clay. He
was on the lamb and laying low. For two years, Hiram
Lewis was nowhere to be found.

Hiram Lewis
(DOB 1-15-71) was picked up by Black Shirts on Tuesday Jan
4th. He is being held in Central Regional Jail on outstanding
warrants from Clay and Roane County.
First, from County Clay and dated from 12-1-2019,
the warrant noted cruelty to animals, abandonment of animal,
charges. Penned by then Chief Deputy Ryan Thomas and edited a
bunch: a call came in that Lewis had abandoned a horse
on his own property...
Very short complaint but something to note. Law
really takes a hard look at animal cruelty charges. Penalties
are stiff. Jail time of up to a year plus fines are common.

From over in
Roane County, something more interesting.
The warrant for arrest was issued by Roane County
Magistrate Jason Bennett on Nov 14, 2019. Offenses included:
assault; petit larceny; brandishing a deadly weapon.
Green Shirt EC Greathouse filled out the criminal
complaint papers which included:
Hiram was working at a hemp farm ($10 / hour) and had
been caught stealing hemp leaves... Lewis was driving a
Jeep... when Hiram stopped to confront a landowner, he got out
of the Jeep and placed a camera on the hood of the vehicle
while carrying an AR-15... After that verbal altercation,
Lewis fled into the woods leaving his assault rifle behind....
Lewis was found in the barn where the hemp operation was
taking place... Lewis had taken some hemp flowers, put
them in a baggie, and then in a coffee container with coffee
grounds... approximately 1/2 pound of the product was in the
container...
Before this incident, the owner had found other
hemp products in a coffee cup, coffee can, trail mix bag, and
various others place full of hemp products.
At one point during the incident, Lewis raised
his AR-15 from behind the driver's side door.
Sounds pretty weird doesn't it? Keep in mind hemp
ain't pot and it offers no stoned affect, it's medicinal at
most.
At one point, Hiram Lewis was a pretty nice guy
with a bright future. That's not the case now for the one time
attorney that is looking at years behind bars. Dumb dumb dumb
comes to mind!
