Walker Creek Farms
New Fun Spot Opens
Oct 1 2020

Have you ever heard of Walker Creek Farms and Cabins? It is a
beautiful, spacious farm over on Nebo in West Virginia.
Daniel and Misty Tanner transformed their 250 acre farm into a
private, dream vacation spot back in the sticks.
There are two cabins, and two yurts available to
snag a getaway in rural Appalachia. All come equipped with
handmade, vintage hot tubs, beautiful hammocks, fire pits, and
a charcoal grill. Both wood and charcoal are included with
your stay.
Upon walking in one of these luxurious cabins,
your senses will be enveloped by old country fresh cut wood
while your eyes grasp all the fine detail the Tanner's put
into the construction of the cabins and yurts. Each building
have their own beautiful views all around, young trees and
fishing ponds surround the place.
All around the cabins, there are over six miles
of hiking/biking trails to get out and enjoy the beautiful
scenery nature has to offer, and to calm and relax your mind.
Go fishing in one of the several ponds, and later down the
road, a small petting zoo for you children, and a nature
themed play area as well.
The Tanner's welcome your pets into their cabins
and yurts as well, so your entire family are able to enjoy an
old country getaway.
Daniel expressed his aspirations of having a
small orchard that you may pick a fresh apple from. They are
currently teaming up with our local Chapter to get this
project going, and even hope for a small vineyard. They will
be hosting "On the Farm" events where people will be able to
harvest and create delicious molasses, learn about different
animals, and so much more.
They are currently in the process of a small
petting zoo where you will be able to go in and experience
collecting fresh eggs from the hen house.
The Tanner's are especially excited to open a
restaurant this coming spring in 2021, but this is no regular
restaurant. You will be experiencing fresh, home cooked meals,
and have the ability to ride in a horse carriage while you
wait for your food to be ready. The most fascinating detail
is, after you enjoy your ride and your meal, you donate what
you wish by placing it in an envelope. There will be no set
prices for any of the meals.
Now, if this does not sound like a perfect
getaway for you and your family, it's time to reevaluate! You
can look them up over on Facebook or Instagram, "Walker Creek
Farms and Cabins," for more information on booking, or you can
visit their website https://www.walkercreekfarms.com/ or give
them a call, (304) 286-5200.
