RACE
DAY OCT 10 2020
article comin soon

Deliciously Vivid committee organized and ran the first
time ever, 5k Spooktacular Color Race. That color part
you can see down below as racers went past various check
points. The whole idea is to draw into Clayberry new
faces with fresh pocket books. That happened Oct 10th
even with raint weather.

Sure it's a bunch of fun but why is such
an event important for our future? Normally Saturdays
are dead as a box of rocks in downtown Clay. That has to
change for us to grow. On the 10th all the visitors
purchased from the retail stores that were open. If each of
the guests spent even $10, that's new money!
We saw saw a new BBQ vendor set up for business. The
place sold out of pulled pork sandwiches and plate lunches.

The local radio station , 101.7FM,
provided a live broadcast beginning at 1pm on the 10th.
That's volunteer Gage Bass behind the mic and spinning the
tunes.

The lady in the middle is Vanessa
Dunigan, the head honcho of Deliciously Vivid. Mayor
Shamblin is on the right with Lynn Sizemore to the left.

All in all, the Spooktacular was a great
draw for County Clay and came off without any major glitches...
even in the rain!
