Kenneth Michael Eltzroth

Felony 43 Kenneth Michael Eltzroth (DOB 1-18-88) is not a common name nor one we've had on a Blotter in the past. The 6 foot tall 190 pounder is a nice lookin lad but one with a sticky fingeritus background wrapped around drug convictions. But for this caper, things were different, something with style about it. He stands charged with grand Larceny now.
Penned by Black Shirt Randy Holcomb on Oct 11th, for this complaint write up, we're going to present it mostly,  just as written
Early on Oct 11th, Eltzroth did steal and take away a 2022 Ford Expedition from the Bickmore area with a  value of $70K. Inside the Ford was a $600 Sig Sauer pistol
Eltzroth was in the area and had broken down and had used a local residential telephone to call King Wrecker. When King's showed up, Eltzroth had skedaddled.
Turns out, that broke down vehicle (Chevy Cobalt) had been stolen from Marion County..
The Ford Expedition was in a driveway just 500 yards away and Eltzroth stole it. Later Eltzroth did text the victims and admitted to stealing their Ford without permission.
That's a about the extent of the criminal complaint.
But, based on the Go mart coffeehouse crowd and calls we received, there's a whole more to be passed along. Here goes.
Kenneth Michael Eltzroth had just been released from a drug treatment center and was in route to his new job.
He swiped that Chevy to make it to work on time
It broke down while in Clayberry.
The owner of the Ford Expedition left the pistol, a purse, credit cards, in the vehicle the night before. The nice looking SUV was easy pickins.
Down the road Eltzroth did go. Seeing the cell phone in the seat, Eltzroth texted the owner apologizing for his thievery, promised to keep it in good condition and park it in a safe place. He did just that without taking her belongings, he took nothing from the Ford as far as we can tell.
Still trying to get to his work site, he thieved another vehicle and on he went.
He kept texting to original victim mentioning they seemed like nice people. At one point he asked her if she would buy him an old vehicle so he could get to work.
At some point, he got caught. He got caught while parked along the road and while texting yet again.
How about that readers. Seems like a nice guy, one that worries about how he treats victims. Also, maybe not too bright. He used his real name when telephoning the wrecker company!
