MORE W/ MORE TO COME
CMI2 Ceremony
Nov 8th

  Two things.
One, Appalachians are very clannish, skeptical of new comers.
Two, we've seen a bunch of snake oil salesmen come thru these mountains with promises of gold and silver.
Excuse us it we don't believe every promise that comes our way.
Three years ago the first word of a military and first responder training center were to be built and operated on the old Fola Coal strip mine site. A lot different this time around, the outsiders weren't here with their hands out. They (CMI2) showed up with a plan and finances to get the place built and operating. It was a nice change from times of ole
During the last couple years, many metal buildings have been built. Roads have been paved. A mess hall is now operating. Several jobs have been filled by local yocals. Some high school students now have full time jobs with other obtaining part time and Summer jobs.
Those metal buildings.. they were built by local contractors. Feeding the gob of  trainees, that's being done by local caterer, Duane Legg and Legacy Catering.
Located off the beaten tract, it's hard to see the massive investment on the old strip mine site. Not so hard to see are many military trucks, vehicles that ply their way thru the county getting to the training center. Overhead, it's now common to whirlybirds over head.
Money did you say? The area gas stations love it when those big trucks stop and purchase several hundred gallons of fuel at each pop.
CMI2 is now involved at Clay High. They opened the wallet too. We like that. Last Summers July 4th celebration, CMI2 covered the cost in a first class way complete with fireworks
On Nov 8th CMI2 held a big ceremony to celebrate the building of a new 900+ square foot center of operations. Here's some pics from the Nov 8th affair

Clay High students showing their stuff

Look up near the top of the above pic. See that dozed off and graveled flat perch. That will be  home for the soon to be constructed 9000+ square foot command center

The guy fronting the entire operation is Wally Hatfield (above). He's also the contact person for anything related to the CMI2 training center.

There's a bunch of high tech stuff going on at the training center. Most everyone understands the importance of sending in techy dogs instead of humanoids. Note the image in the center of the pic. That's the concept for that new command center.

Gov Jim Justice showed up for the festivities.

For those still thinking, this won't last or it's all just a scam to get $$$. Forget it. We think CMI2 already has a strong footprint and it's still growing
