Santa Makes Clay
Dec 12 2020

Clayberry's
Christmas Celebration came off without a hitch Saturday
evening, Dec 12th. Well... unless you call constant rain
a hitch. It was wet.
Instead of a nice light parade, this year, due to the
corona bug, everything was different. Organizers Deliciously
Vivid and the Town of Clay made doubly certain, none of the
small fries exited their vehicles. Everything was designed as
a drive by event.

The Town was fully
decorated, like never before. Normally hum bug businesses,
even those folks changed their tune with lights and
decorations. Town Council made sure municipal
decorations were affixed to the utility poles and functioning
properly.

Down in front of
the Clay County Bank, even Bank Prez Greg Gency, dressed as an
elf, was manning their booth for the drive thru kids.

Kudos extended to
the Clay Fire Dept for the most colorful and animated road
side booth.

By 6:15, Santa and
Ms Claus were handing out treats to all that turned into the
Courthouse alley.

By 6:30, the wait
line to see Santa extended down Main Street well past the Farm
Store. After visiting with Santa, vehicles drove around the
Courthouse to the other corner where gifts were handed out to
each and every rug rat.

Clay's Santa
Celebration was a success. Smiles were everywhere. Little kids
were just as excited seated in their cars as when they could
run around in wait for a parade.
Maybe best of all, every kid and parent we saw were
wearing face masks.
