A Merry Slippery White Christmas

Dec 17 2022

Volunteers in small town America know how to put on a Christmas fun time for young and old alike. For 2022, County Clay's Festival was held on Dec 17th beginning at 5pm. The annual event was held in downtown Clay complete with a 8 pm light parade.
For this year even the weather cooperated. Not too cold and with a hint of snow flurries in the air.

Kids got into the fun time by decorating cupcakes over at Clay County Services Unlimited, the old Lion's Club building.

The big hit was the Grinch with his onion offerings.

Fairview Baptist provided the carols. Nice!

Inside the Courthouse vendors set up shop. Based on what we saw, sales were quite brisk

The place was packed

Leading off the Light Parade was the CCHS band with Jingle Bells

Anybody, anything with lights were invited for the parade

This year's Christmas Light Parade lasted around 15 minutes and included the Apple Festival Queen.

As has been the case for decades, it's the volunteers that make things happen in Clayberry.
