Tim Butcher
Tim Butcher is a
well known Clayonian. As a kid he was a heck of a baseball
player and played on a championship team. He still has his
glove and memorabilia from those glory years.
At one point he was Mayor of the Town of Clay where he spear headed the new high tech Log Factory project. Later, he was elected as a County Commissioner.
He comes from what's considered a "blueblood" family. And then... 20 years or so ago, things changed.
While serving on the CCC, he stayed away from his elected position for nearly 10 months claiming an injury and in search of the much wanted disability check.
More recently, especially in the last 6 years, Tim has been a stoney. He was blitzed for much of each day. Friends would cringe when they say him coming their way.
Wed afternoon, a little after 5 pm, Timothy Opten Butcher (DOB 5-19-1954) was arrested by Randy Holcomb, a life long friend. From the criminal complaint, excerpts: On Feb 4th Randy Holcomb was called to the residence of Tim Butcher ... for a report of shots fired. Upon entering the home, a strong odor of pot was detected.
Tim gave the green light (oral and written) for the search.
A small plastic baggy of white stuff was found in his walk in bedroom. Doing a field test, yelp, it was 18 grams of heroin. Tim told Randy, it's either "slow and go" or heroin.
On Feb 8th, Tim gave a statement alleging, two males and a female brought the heroin to him in exchange for room and board at Tim's home.....
One time Commissioner, Tim Butcher stands charged with conspiracy to deliver heroin. As of Feb 11th at 11:30, he remains lodged in Central Regional Jail (CRJ) awaiting bail amounting to $10,000.
Mr Butcher will appear before Magistrate Jeff Rider on Feb 22nd.

Martez K McIlwain(DOB 1-4-90) Tyrin L Whittaker (DOB 8-18-94)
As for McIlwain,
Whittaker, and Black, their criminal complaint reads almost
identical to Tim's charge. One exception which reads,
McIlwain, Black, and Whittaker brought the powdery
stuff to his house in exchange for a place to stay.
Peyton M Black (DOB 5-6-20)
These three are
charged with delivery of a controlled substance
There's no mention of a residence for McIlwain.
Whittaker's home base is Eastpointe MI
As for Ms Black, Davis West Virginia is her home address.
Word on the street has it, the two black lads had been calling home in Huntington. Before that, Detroit.
We don't know anything about the later three but for Tim, a dry out time in the slammer may be what keeps him alive a little longer. As a two pack a day cigarette smoker and then drugs, the DT's are going to be tough on him. If he gets thru that, the 66 year old might have a chance at life again.
