B L O T T E R
Feb 2 2023

We're starting a new year. Our listings are in chronological order but keep in mind, criminal complaints are not made public until the warrants for arrest are executed... IE: The find and pick up the person. That means there may be gaps in the count.
Often we paraphrase the complaint. Almost always we leave the sad details on pedophiles. Even when listed, we always leave out the names of juveniles. And, as real newspapers print, everybody is innocent and lilly white clean until they go thru the Court system.
With that being said, welcome to 2023

Felony criminal complaint #1 & 2 was awarded to Jumel T Williams (DOB 2-22-93) from Brooklyn New York on Jan 3rd.. The arresting Badge was long time on the job, R R Cervera.
Back on Jan 3rd, Cervera tried to stop a Chevy Equinox that had Florida plates affixed with bot working tail lights. The vehicle stopped on Main Street in Clay but as soon as the Badge got out of his ride, the Equinox zoomed away. The chase was on.
Driving upwards of 80 mph and crossing over the center line, passed a car in a curve and almost struck a Clay Ambulance, the driver missed the turn in front of Cunningham's and drove up the grassy yard owned by Jerry Cunningham's residence.
Although Cervera ain't built to be an Olympic runner, he gave chase. The driver was a black male wearing a hoodie.
He found the passengers in the woods behind Jerry's house. With the help of other Green Shirts, the driver was found near the Elk River, in a ditch just North of the old Little League ball field in Ivydale.
It's hard get away from even those pudgy Badges.
Doing a little Sherlock work, up in Braxton County, two of those arrested were also passing counterfeit $20 bills. The $20's found inside the Chevy matched those retrieved in Braxton County.
Up in Bridgeport, yelp, the same crew was passing the funny money at a Walgreens there.
Turns out Jumel Williams was driving the Chevy on a revoked New York driver's license.

Felony 2 Buffalo New York's Jesse J Gibson (DOB 2-22-93)) was arrested on Grand Larceny charges related to a late Dec incident. For this paperwork, Green Shirt B R Smith did the honors.
From the public complaint file:  Amanda Brown reported that a catalytic converter had been cut off her vehicle at 10 Center Street in downtown Clay valued at $1042.18.
A witness saw Jesse Gibson steal the converter. Gibson was there supposedly cutting wood.
That converter was found in Gibson's possession.
If convicted of the transgression, he's looking at a $1000 fine and a year in the slammer.

Terry Brown

Felony 3  Terry Lee Brown Jr (DOB 9-17-77) from Clay stands charged with possession of pot with plans to deliver and several traffic infractions. Green Shirt R E Wiseman handled this arrest and paperwork
Around 8:30 on Jan 18th Wiseman spotted a Jeep Liberty pulling a trailer without working tail lights. The Jeep had loud mufflers. During the pull over, the driver Terry Brown Jr advised, nope he didn't have insurance nor proper registration and his driver's license was yanked for unpaid tickets.
And then the biggy... in the back seat in a Under-Armor bag, three bags of pot was found.
Brown told the Badge that he got it from Samuel Todd Murphy of Lizemores. Back at the Green Shirt Resort, Brown provided: on the 18th he went to Murphy's home to borrow a trailer and Murph asked him to transport the pot to a Tommy Short. ... that, Murph owes Short money on a  motorcycle  and the pot was payment for the cycle.
Murph took Brown into his basement where he reached into his chimney and retrieved the three bags of pot (3 pounds)  and another 12 bags fell out of the chimney.
Brown also saw a delivery of other drugs (red pick up truck) one day prior and those drugs also went to the basement.
In a talky mood, Murphy told Brown that the Can-Am UTV, outside behind the residence, it was stolen.

Sorry no felony4 nor 5 yet.

Most remember Sam Murphy from 16 years back when he threatened Top Badge Randy Holcomb with a pipe bomb attack (as well as the Ace Cub Reporter).  Murph went to prison for several years for the three  Ka Boooms. Bystander, Ronnie Ham was injured when he stumbled on the bombs and they exploded.

Murphy

Here comes Felony #6 This one is on Samuel Todd Murphy and related to the just above, felony 3, write up. Green Shirt Wiseman handled this write up too.
On Jan 19th a search warrant was issued for Sam Murphy's house in Lizemore. There Murph came to the front door and volunteered, Yelp he did have a bag of pot hidden in the living room in a tin can. 370 grams of weed was found by Wiseman
But the biggy especially for a convicted felon, the Badge saw a 308 Remington rifle in Murph's bedroom. Any time any felon is caught with a firearm, he's in deep stuff.
Eagle eyed Wiseman wasn't done yet. Outside, that Can-Am ATV, after doing a record check, it came back as stolen from Fayette County.
Nearby, an orange in color Harley Davidson was spotted and Yelp, it too was stolen but from Greenbrier County
Samuel Todd Murphy is starting 2023 off with serious charges against him. That felon in possession of a firearm, that's worth 5 years in the slammer alone for starters.

There you have it readers, we're off and running in 2023.
