SALT & SONSHINE
By: Pastor/Teacher James R. Paxton
I’m sure you have heard many times that we are living in the last days.
Perhaps you have heard it so many times that you just say
“yea, yea, I’ve heard it many times before. Maybe you just wanted
some new or fresh evidence. You might just want to pay attention
to what is going on in this world today.
Could it be that the plagues mentioned in Deuteronomy
chapter 28 are actually coming to pass? Could it be that the
pestilences mentioned in Matthew 24 are upon us? Could it be that
the events mentioned in the book of Revelation is beginning?
One little bug is all it took to bring the world to its
knees. Grocery stores, restaurants, industry, sporting events,
nursing homes and airlines are only a portion of the things that affect
our daily lives that we see all around us.
The news media continuously stir men’s hearts with fear and
dread. Washington doesn’t have the answer nor does Wall
Street. Mall’s are nearly empty and churches are locking their
doors. Nations have closed their borders and people are instructed
to stay home. Schools are closed and small shops are facing
bankruptcy.
Some will scoff and others will panic. Greed will
raise its ugly head and victimize the unwise and
careless. The fear in men’s hearts coupled with
the feeling of hopeless paints a grim picture. Questions
arise but answers are hard to find. Is it just a virus? How
long will it last? They tell us it will get worse before it gets
better.
I am sure that our government is doing the best it
can. Hospitals, clinics, doctors and pharmacists are also
doing their best. But if this is a warning from God we better pay
attention. One thing I know. Jesus is coming and if you have
not accepted Him as your Lord and Savior you better brace yourself
because when Jesus comes for those are left here it is going to get
worse, much worse. There is only one answer, one way of
escape. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. He
is about to prove it once and for all. Your choice.
Jesus loves you.
Maranatha!
