Not sure
when the Courthouse went into lock down for the public but, on
Wed morning, the doors were locked and it took someone
from within to let you in. Just two days before, they had
Black Shirt Hallie Morris in the vestibule minus the
thermometer.
On Wednesday
March 25 2020, at 10am sharp, the CCC Meeting got
underway with around 8 in the peanut gallery. If you leave out
govt officials, there was one member of the public present.
There was really just two items on the meeting agenda.
First up was a motion to approve bids for a school violence prevention program. On hand for that decision was School Superintendent Joe Paxton and some old white headed guy. Can't quite remember that name from yesteryear.
Sounded like, the $277K will cover the cost of three projects. Stuff like a better access control for buildings, camera upgrades, and some kind of intercom systems were mentioned.
Required local matches for the grant $$$ will come from the Pentagon and not the County Commission. Although not the cheapest bidders, winning companies are Camel Technologies, Alpha ($51,115), and maybe AFT or ACP ( $42,453) . Sorry we didn't write quick enough for more details

The Health
Dept's Angela Brown was on hand to provide an update on the
Corona Virus bug.
If you have been to New York recently , anybody, everybody, you are suppose to self quarantine for 14 days and let the Clay Health Dept know.
As for the much needed personnel protection equipment, Ms Brown stated that they have some just not enough. As for receiving requested and needed equipment, at best, there has been a slow response. Added, the amount requested, that ain't happening readers.
Also, 5 local yocals have been tested. As far as test results, returns are very slow coming. Snail's pace comes to mind.
Brown advised on staying away from emergency rooms unless the temperature (100.4) has lasted for 3 or more days
Commissioner King said something of note. The Franster reported, having a temperature may NOT be the first sign of the bug.
The total meeting lasted just 16 minutes.
