SALT & SONSHINE

The Journey
As I look around me today and listen to the various news agencies and see the changes around me I am so glad my trust is not in what the world offers. The government does its best to accommodate my needs but that is not where my trust lies. I am so glad that I’m a child of God and He has promised to meet all my need according to His riches in glory.
His Word has warned us of such things as famines, pestilences and plagues that would befall mankind in the days in which we life. God doesn’t cause these things but He does permit them. They serve a purpose.
Who would have thought that the world could be brought to its knees so quickly and so completely. Nation after nation has bowed its knees to the corona-virus. Every resource available has been used and our most gifted scientific and medical professionals search for the answers.
If the devil (satan) had his way he would cause the corona-virus to just plainly wipe us out completely. However, his impact can only go as far as God allows.
Why would God allow such a thing? Here’s one reason. Mankind has strayed far away from God’s plan for him. He has turned his back on God and placed other things that please him as his god. Alcohol, drugs, sports, greed, recreation and the quest for power are just a few. He has forgotten the need of God in his life and has sought the pleasures of this world in its stead. Perhaps God, in His love and kindness, has given us warning that unless we turn back to Him we will pay the price on judgment day and be sent to Hell.
I know that if anyone is truly a child of God, God will take care of them.
He purchased me at Calvary by dying on the cross for me. He said H would never leave me nor forsake me. He said He would spare me from the wrath to come and no evil would befall me and no harm would come nigh my dwelling. I believe what He said otherwise the peace I have would be far from me and fear would walk right in. God made His choice by sending His Son to Calvary and die for me. Jesus made His choice by doing the will of His Father. I made my choice when I knelt at an altar on March 2, 1972. That is why I can do what the Apostle Paul said and simply “Rejoice”.
God is no respecter of persons and the promises He made are for anyone who receives Him and does what He says. God loves me and God loves you. Your life is a journey towards eternity. The choices you have made have brought you this far. They are moving you to either Heaven or Hell. How is it with you today?
Maranatha!
