Black Shirt Busted
Posted May 14 2020
We've got a Black Shirt Badge that manages to get her
name in the news on a fairly regular basis. Here comes
the latest on newbee Badge Hayley Morris.

After scoring high
on the Civil Service test, and with the recommendation
of Sheriff Donnie Triplett, Clay County Commission hired
Hayley Morris earlier this year. On first blush, Ms Morris
appears to be a healthy, young female with good hygiene and
best of all, has a good brain.
Those first impressions don't always pan out.
On the same day she was hired for Black Shirt
duties, Morris wrecked a side by side causing shoulder
injuries requiring medical treatment and reduced work
loads. In that incident, Facebook photos prior the crash
showed beer as a factor in the wreck.
A couple weeks back we heard the first
coffeehouse rumors of Hayley allowing others to drive her
assigned cruiser.
And now, we have this hidden citation. We say hidden
because the infraction happened in Dec 2019. Why so long in
finding the public file? Answer is, the citation does not show
up on public Magistrate records until the fine is paid or the
offender is picked up.
Based on the citation, sounds like Brown Shirt Stuart
Simms ( he's the same guy that caught the Green Shirt shooting
Robo Deer) found Morris with the deer in her possession but
did not see her pull the trigger. Hunting without a license,
that's the charge, is also a serious and costly crime.
Maybe Morris thought the ticket would just disappear or
otherwise just go away. It did get into a holding pattern
while Donnie Triplett was in the Top Badge position.
That changed as soon as the new guy got wind of the
problem.
Our understanding is, Holcomb marched Hayley Morris
over to the Magistrate office and had her pay the citation in
full.
Partying the night you get a new job. That's common.
Partying to you crash, that's dumb. If the stories of Morris
allowing others to drive her badge mobile, that's down right
dumb. And now this problem.
Every adult in the county knows, hunting requires
a license. Hunting out of season, that too shows lack of
judgement. Burying the citation in hopes it would just
disappear, maybe get a favor on the transgression, in our
book, that's worst of all.
It's time for our newest Badge to show some mental
growth.
