Big Time Graduation Parade
Saturday May 9 2020

High
noon on Saturday May 9th, Clayberry brought nothing but
bright blue skies and beautiful sunshine. But, the look
was deceiving. It was down right chilly, a day for at
least a heavy sweater or jacket and gloves. None the less.
the celebration for graduating seniors via a downtown Clay
parade, it was a huge success. The parade went a full 20
minutes from start to finish. There was everything from
log trucks, to side by sides, Badge-mobiles, fire trucks
and a few nicely done up, antique cars and trucks. Each
vehicles carried Clay High graduating seniors, graduating
8th graders from the Middle School and 5th graders from
elementary schools around the county.

Along the way, parents, friends, and others
lined Main Street. The place was full of smiles. In the
way of social distancing there was next to none. Other than a
couple parade participants and maybe a couple others on
sidewalks, social distancing was none existent.

There is Black Shirt Hallie Morris driving her
on cruiser.

Even most members of the
School Board were along for the ride. There they are setting
the example for the entire county by not wearing face masks

Ever wonder who has been putting
together all the events like the Senior's parade. The
above image shows the most active members of the
Deliciously Vivid committee. In the bed of the truck are Cindy
Mullins seated and Mayor Josh Shamblin standing. Up front
is the main ring leader in the passenger seat, Vanessa
Dunigan. Not a member of the group but certainly drug into
service is Tommy Dunigan driving the Chevy.
