We're Growing!
June 24 2020
From the Clay County Bank location South, for years, that's
been a dead zone or at least a seedy area of downtown Clay.
That's changing quickly with the opening of three start up
businesses.

That's
Shay Edgar just above. It there was ever a business location
remodeled from top to bottom, it's this building just across
from the Clay County Bank. Not sure what all the trinkets,
clothing and more are, but, our guess, women will love the
selection and the Spic and Span operation. Shay's Boutique's
opened for business June 13th.

Little
Country Tobacco opened in May and carries a line of tobacco
products. When we visited the store (just across from the DHHR
operation) plans were being considered to expand into munchies
and bottled drinks.

We can't think of a
worse time to open than during a word wide pandemic. The
Williams family did that and with success. In the beginning,
window service offered the public a place to purchase meats ,
fruits, and veggies. When keep it shut orders were lifted, the
front door opened and walk in business took off with an
expanded product line at the ready.

As with Shay's, the
Small Town Market location, the old Seneca Grill building,
under went a complete make over from ceilings, HVAC, down to
the flooring. The place is very sharp on the inside

There you have it for the downtown Clay additions.
All built and opened during the worst of times in the
Nation. That section of Town has come alive and looks much
better than for years. The coming sidewalk upgrades should
enhance that end of Town big time.

With growing
interest in promoting the Elk River for Summer time family
fun, Melody Cottrell took up the banner and opened a Kayak
rental business. Her location is in the same building as Clay
Recycling in Two Run , just up from Go Mart. Check em out:
