ARRAIGNMENT DAY
July 19th
Behind closed doors, during the second week of July, our
Summer Grand Jury returned the eight true bills. That means,
the empaneled jurors believed the info provided by Prosecutor
Jim Samples and agreed to send the eight to trial.
Judge Jack Alsop is handling the honor from the
front bench.
From the public record, here goes.
Timothy Michael Drake possession with intent to
deliver x 2; prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Attorney John Mitchell Jr will be representing Mr Drake . $75K
bond
Robert Lee Deel burglary, petit larceny,
destruction of property. Wayne King represents Deel.
$10K bond
Christopher David Pritt prohibited person in
possession of a fire arm, petit larceny, destruction of
property. Wayne King is handling this offender as well.
Pritt's bond has been revoked.
Jeremiah Donovan Neff possession of child
porno. Wayne King once again. Bond is set at $25K
Kevin Wayne Tanner breaking and entering, grand
larceny, and conspiracy. Bond stands at $30K
Tabitha Ashley Tanner breaking and entering,
grand larceny, conspiracy
William Patrick Wayne Lane failure to appear
James Patterson McCune threats of terrorism acts.
Once the bad guys and girls get their names in
the system (via grand jury) they have a chance to tell the
court, guilty or not guilty. That's called Arraignment Day
which was held July 19th in the upstairs Courtroom. We sat
thru most of those proceedings and report as follows.

Drake
Right on time,
actually a couple minutes ahead of the 9am start time, 34 year
old Timothy Drake was first up. Charleston's John R Mitchell
Jr will represent Drake who was well dressed, clean and neat
looking. Well, actually, both of em were well dressed and
cleaned up. If convicted of the charges, Drake could be behind
bars for over 15 years. According to court testimony, Drake
was caught with hydros. After pleading not guilty three times,
his trial date was set for Oct 12th.
Each person has to submit to a whiz test. Drake's
pee test came back hot for weed. Attorney Mitchell has been at
his game for decades and knows when to speak up for his
client. He did just that: my guy, there's no way he could
flunk a drug test, he works in New York, steady, he's already
in a treatment program and they test regularly. Didn't work,
to jail he did go.

Deel
Robert Deel Jr , 27
years old and a high school graduate, showed up in his orange
jumpsuit and plead not guilty to his Oct 2021 transgressions.
His trial is also set for the morning of Oct 12th.
Alsop had those first two matters completed in
less than 9 minutes.

Pritt
38 year old Chris
Pritt has been thru the Clayberry Court system many times. Now
balding and clad in his CRJ jumpsuit, he looked nervous . His
most recent capers were caught on Feb 16th of this year. Back
to CRJ he was sent pending his Oct 12th trial.
We can remember when Chris was actually a pretty nice
kid. He even worked here and there and did a good job at
manual laborer efforts. Based on his criminal records and his
current looks, Chris Pritt is pretty far down in the hole of
life. Sad
31 year old Jeremiah Neff (sorry no mug pic
on file) is a big, burly lookin, high school graduate. His 24
count pervert charges stem from an April 8th 2021 arrest where
kiddy porn pics and videos were seized. Defense attorney
Wayne King wants to an expert witness to come to court for the
trial.
The way it will work, the evidence will be kept
in a locked box at the Big Otter Green Shirt Retreat where all
parties can view the stuff. No copies will be allowed the
defense team. Trial is set for Oct 12th.
We're lumping Kenneth (47 years old) and Tabitha
Tanner (38 years old) into one notation. Both are charged with
unlawful conduct in Jan of this year. Trial time is set for
Oct 18th before Judge Alsop

Lane
William Lane keeps diggin' his hole deeper. Poor Mr Lane
is charged with failure to appear at a previous court
appearance. Robes don't like it when people waste court
time by not showing up when ordered. For this July 19th
day, you guessed it, Lane was a no show and the search was
on for the lad. Local Badges found him later on that same
date and stuffed him in CRJ.

McCune
James P McCune was also indicted and suppose to
show up for acts of terrorism. He didn't.
We think this is related to his threats to do
in the Probation officer. Alsop told court
officials, find him and get him here for a July 26th
hearing.
