We're still playing catch up since the Corony Bug hit. Here
goes. Felony 22 & 23 plus some Misdemeanor
stuff from back in March 2020.
David Lee Patterson (DOB 10-15-1957) netted a couple felony
charges. Many of us were listening to scanner traffic on March
13th when two Big Otter Community Center participants were struck
by a vehicle. Patterson is charged with crashes involving death or
injury. Penned by Green Shirt RL Wiseman with probable cause
found and the warrant issued by Magistrate Jeff Boggs on
March 26, 2020.
From the criminal complaint and paraphrased:
Shortly after 9pm, Wiseman was dispatched March 13th
on a hit and run complaint. Two individuals had been struck
by a gold in color sedan causing serious bodily
injury. A mirror from the vehicle was discovered which had
black duct tape wrapped around it. The victims were
helicoptered to CAMC.
On Saturday March 14th, a tip came in on where the vehicle
was located. How did the tip get to be?
One of the victim's cell phone had a tracking device and
that phone got lodged into the tricking vehicles and got stuck
there. That phone also provided the time / date that the vehicle
got back home. Making life much easier for Badge work, Yelp there
sat the gold Nissan with a broken mirror . Still easier, there was
front end damage and the windshield was broke. What else could
Perry Mason want for a conviction? Right there in plain view was a
hair sample in the broken windshield.
That gold Nissan belongs to David Patterson but has
no insurance, sticker, registration or all that other pesky stuff
needed to be legal. Patterson told Wiseman that he didn't know
anything about a cell phone.
Seeing his goose getting cooked, Patterson got into an
aggressive stance. Badges don't care for that one bit. Patterson
was taken into custody after telling Badge Wiseman to get the F
off his property.
Patterson's girl friend was on scene but could not attest
to how the vehicle got damaged nor anything hit and run
related. She did tell the Badge, Patterson had told her, he
had hit a deer.
What Patterson is charged with doing, that's serious stuff
, but what there's more!
The girlfriend started crying and said, she was afraid
Patterson would kill her if she said anything more. When asked if
she would like a "Hope care worker" to get her away from
Patterson, here it comes readers, her response was No.
As for the cellphone, it was never found. Video
surveillance from Go mart revealed nothing.
I know we've already said, But What There's More... here
goes with the second set of charges...
Green Shirt Wiseman was back at Patterson's home doing
follow up stuff when he discovered a 2012 Honda Foreman 500.
That ATV had the ignition switch messed up and replaced with a
toggle switch. A quick NCIC check, sure enough, it was
stolen.
Covering his own butt, Patterson said he had received the
Honda from a Goodwin subject that lives in the Hartland area.
Yelp, David Patterson is looking at some real time behind
bars..
