QUICKY MEETING
CCC Meets
July 24th
It doesn't take long for the Clay County Commission
to get done with what they want the public to know about. Their
July 24th meeting adjourned in just 9 minutes. That's not a record
(think the record is 5 minutes for a regular meeting) but it's
still a quicky.
With all three Commissioners present and sprinkling of
taxpayers in the peanut gallery we did manage a couple morsels.
Here goes.
Duane Legg of Legacy Foods in Lizemores
Duane Legg was appointed to the
Business Development Authority with a unanimous vote. He's one of
the few that actually operates a successful business in Clayberry.
On hand, Angela Brown with the Health Dept provided, HIV is
on the rise in County Clay along with syphilis.
Commissioners David Schoolcraft and Connie Kinder are
also on the CAEZ Board of Directors. When asked about an update on
the CAEZ dragging their feet on a lease to turn over their Dundon
Campground to the state to help grow tourism and a proposed rail
ride, this: a contract from the W Va Rail Authority is coming,
there have been no general, special, emergency meetings in July,
and no dollar amount has been agreed for a one year lease
agreement.
They made no mention of the CAEZ hiring a new
Director nor anything else.
So very sad.
