Terry Jason Holley (F#54, 5-21-86) Arrested for attempted arson, 4 counts of domestic assault, obstructing an officer, fleeing from officer, and battery of a law-enforcement officers x 2. Details from the criminal complaint are as follows.
On July 19, 2020, officer, Jason W. Keffer responded to an address in Lizemores in reference to a domestic situation. While in route, officer Keffer was advised by the 911 center that Terry Holly had attempted to set the house in fire. Keffer was also advised that the occupants of the residents were able to put the fire out.
Upon arrival, Keffer spoke with Teresa Truman, mother of Terry Holly, who stated that the situation with Mr. Holly had been ongoing for several days, and he had been told he would no longer be allowed to live in the residence. Holly had been living in the residence with his grandparents, Wenston and Barbara Nottingham.
Ms. Truman stated she had been at the residence with her and her brother, Wenston Nottingham Jr., due to the ongoing problems with the defendant. Ms Truman further stated that at around 3pm that day, Holly returned to the residence, and Ms. Truman began speaking with him at the kitchen door of the residence.
Ms. Truman stated that the defendant was not allowed to enter the residence, and he was told to leave and not come back on the property. Ms. Truman then stated Holly threatened to burn down the house while she and the others were there. Ms. Truman further stated that she again told the defendant to leave at which time she shut and locked the door. Ms Truman then stated that after several minutes, she looked out the kitchen window and saw flames on the side of the house. Ms. Truman then stated that she and Mr. Nottingham Jr. went outside and was able to contain the flames, and put out the fire. Mr. Nottingham, Barbra Nottingham, and Wenston Nottingham Jr. were all located inside the residence at the time Holly attempted to see the residence on fire. By knowingly and intentionally attempting to set the residence of fire, Holly put the family in danger of receiving a violent injury.

Another for Mr. Holley (#57)- Here are the details from the criminal complaint.
On Saturday July 18th, 2020 at around 11pm, TPR. R. E. Wiseman was contacted by Clay County 911 Center at which time was advised of a destruction of property complaint, located in Lizemores.
Upon arrival, Wiseman was met by a Lisa Ann Cash. Mrs, Cash advised him that a Terry Jason Holley had came to said residence and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Mr. Holley then demanded that she and Teresa Truman leave the residence. Mr. Cash and Mrs, Truman then told Holley that they were not leaving the home.
Mr. Holley then stated that if they do not leave, he would bust the windshield out of Mrs. Cash’s vehicle. Mr. Holley then walked behind the home, and returned with the back of a toilet seat. Mr. Holley then took the toilet seat and struck Mrs Cash’s vehicle windshield, resulting in the windshield breaking. Then he left the home.
Wiseman then spoke with Mrs Truman, Mrs. Truman stated that she witnessed the entire incident, and wished to give a statement. Wiseman received a written statement form her, recovered photographs of Mrs. Cash’s vehicle, and attached them all to the statement to file report.
On Sunday, July 19th, 2020 at around 3pm, Sgt J Keffer, employed with the WVSP- Clay Detachment, was dispatched by Clay County 911 Center for an attempted (then a repeat of statement above)
Oddly at the same time as the report above, the officer observed the house to be engulfed in flames.
The officer then spoke with multiple civilians that were on scene. The civilians being a Michelle Lynn Robinson, Jason Michael Bodkins, Jakob Wilson Bodkins, and John William Robinson Jr.
Mr. John William Robinson Jr. advised that when he observed the residence be on fire, he immediately responded to the home to make sure there was no one inside. Mr. Robinson advised this offer that upon approaching the residence, he observed a hole in the back of the residence that appeared to be where the fire originated. Mr. Robision also advised that he heard someone running through the woods on the back sided of the residence.Mr. Robinson further advised he did not believe anyone to be in the home at the time of the fire
Mrs. Michelle Lynn Robinson then told the officer that she observed Mr. Holley walking north on WV – Route 16 at approximately 2:30pm Mrs. Robinson stated that at the time, Mr. Holly was approximately 100 Yards south of the residence. Mr Jakob Wilson bodkins then told the officer that he also observed Holley walking on “Lizemores strait,” towards the residence, approximately 15 minutes prior to observing the fire. The said residence that was burn down is located on Lizemores straight. This offer received written statements from all the aforementioned. They will attach the statement s to the filed report. An attempt to locate Mr. Holley in the woods was to no avail.
On Monday, July 20th 2020, around 4 pm, the officer was advised that Mr. Holley was found hiding in the woo-line in the Lizemores area, by the Clay CountySheriff's Department. The officer was told that Mr. Holley was arrested at that time fore destruction of property, and attempted arson warrant.
Upon being arrested, he fled on foot after the officer identified himself, Holley physically obstructed the officer by refusing to be placed in custody, and did make physical contact of a violent and combative nature wit the officer, and another Clay County Deputy.

Here are a couple misdemeanors we thought would be an interesting read.
Samuel B. Belt- On Sunday July 19th, 2020, CPL S.L. Bass was contacted by Clay 911 in reference to a fight in Maysel. Upon arriving on the scene, the officer made contact with Victim on identified as Crystal Belt who state that she and her husband Sam Belt who is the suspect, both had been drinking. She further stated that at once point, she asked Sam to stop drinking, and said he became angry, and began yelling and being aggressive, and then punched the front windshield of their vehicle and busted it, and also attempted to punch the right rear passenger glass, and shoved her to the ground.
At this point, victim two identified as Tyler Bragg stated that after observing this, he attempted to protect Crystal and came off the front porch, and in doing so, was punched on time in the face by Sam. Sam then left the scene on foot, and 911 was called. Both victims’ received minor injuries.
Officer Bass made contact with Sam who stated that he did strike Tyler in the face, but only after he reproached him stating he was a marine, and would beat his arse. Sam stated that he did make physical contact with Crystal as he was moving towards Tyler, and says he bumped and she fell to the ground.
Sam is being charged with Assault for the physical contact with Crystal Belt, and Battery for the physical contact with Tyler Bragg.

Charles Richard Schoonover- Arrested for obstructing an officer, and battery on law-enforcement officers. Below are the details from the report.
T.M. Caruthers responded to a call of a missing female. He made contact with Charles Schoonover, the last person to see this female while at the scene where the female’s car was located. Caruthers informed Charles that he would not be able to retrieve his belonging from the car until he could inventory the vehicle for anything that may provide information to the females whereabouts. Charles became angry and began cursing the officer, and demanded to be allowed in the vehicle.
Caruthers attempted to calm Charles, however Charles became combative in the nature and took an aggressive stance toward Caruthers while balling his fists. Caruthers then attempted to take Charles into custody, however Charles grabbed him by the neck. A struggle occurred resulting in him and the officer on the ground with Charles refusing to be handcuffed. Ultimately, Charles was hand cuffed and taken into custody.
JM
