TOWN COUNCIL MEETS
August 4 2020

Town Council met on August 4th, 2020, for a meeting that was only about 25 minutes long.

First stop, finances. Water budget went down $2,400, sewer went down $4,200, with an unknown reason of where the money is going. Mayor, Josh Shamblin, looked the reports up and down, and cannot find the cause. The council will be looking more into this matter. As for now, they will move one of their employees to be paid under the Town budget, as it’s budget is climbing.   Member Jack Brown did state it could be from insurance, and over time, but there hasn’t been much over time. Town also went up $1,800.

IVS company will be jetting the lines in Two Run to clear out the sewer lines. The roto rooter gets the plug out, but not the materials. The funding for this is coming out of the Emergency Funds for the sewage system. There is $10,000 left, and if they do not use it, they lose it.

Drawdown for Dunn Engineering approved. Dunn wants to repair the sewer lift station, but they request to wait till after the lines are flushed in Two Run.

For the Storage Tank project, they voted to release Utility Lawyer, Wyatt Hannah, as they have not been able to get into contact with him for three months, not even the contractors have been able to reach him. The only thing holding up the project is the lack of contract from him. They will be reaching out to Roger Hanshaw to request he be their utility lawyer.

With the virus going on, the training of their employees have now moved online. The application being used is Zoom. The office computer does not have a camera or a microphone, which is a basic requirement for these meetings. With this, Mayor Shamblin requested the council purchase a cheap, basic, laptop for the training. The laptop will be left in the office, and only used for training. The council approved.

This completes the 25 minute meeting.
Next meeting will be held September 1st, 2020 at 5:30pm.
